First few waves of Rock Band DLC revealed

Coming straight from the pages of the latest OXM and finding its way onto the ScoreHero forums is a list of the first few months of Rock Band downloadable content love. No prices or official dates have been revealed just yet, but the musical DLC will be headed to the XBLM with artist packs taking priority. Anyhoo, let's get to the music. Bands getting their own track packs include Queens of the Stone Age, The Police, Metallica, Black Sabbath and David Bowie. There will also be themed music packs like the Punk Pack and additional a la carte songs for download too. Looks good, but wait until pricing is revealed and people realize "Wait a second.. this is the same Sh*t as GH!" then what? I've never had an issue with GH DLC.. if the songs are cool, I'll DL, no problem.

pretty cool. I would still like some Opeth please, but whatever. I hope the Metallica pack is "and Justice for All" status and not "St. Anger"

"Fortunate Song" by Credence Clearwater Revival should be "Fortunate Son", that is unless the original name of the song has changed.

Queens of the Stone Age pack should include Feel Good Hit of the Summer.

HMXSean (A Staff member at Harmonix) also confirmed on the official Rock Band forums that all songs from the packs are available as individual downloads.

This is game almost has me sold, just a little more push and I'm buying it lol

Honestly I'm slightly more willing to pay 500 points for 3 songs that also have drums and vocals worked into them... but I hope it's less because I'm not so willing that I'd do it more than once. If it cost that, I'd be very scared over the full album pricing, which is mostly what I want. Interested in the Bowie pack, though.

Also what happened to Who's Next and the Grateful Dead pack?

Rumor was per their word that the Metallica content was the entire black album. So I'd lean to it hopefully being at least a couple tracks from black album. And the remix of st anger is actually tolerable compared to the original.

I know I'll be buying a points card just for the Queens pack. I'll also get Buddy Holly, My Iron Lung (seriously, no Paranoid Android yet?), Synchronicity II, and some Who and Nirvana songs.

So yeah. Excellent.

I didn't even notice Juke Box Hero. I was remarking the other day that GHIII needed that. Awesome.

I was also super happy to see Foreplay/Long Time... That and Highway Star alone make me want this game.

Nothing that has me TOO interested, but I was already sold on the game anyway (I have it preordered) so it doesn't matter.

Metellica needs, Blackend, For Whom the bell tolls, Seek and destroy and master of puppets. But yes the entire And justice for all would be the end of all music games.

Awesome on the Bowie pack, and kudos for "My Iron Lung." One of the best Radiohead tracks for a game, but still a pack with "Paranoid Android" or "Just" would rule.

And "Ever Fallen in Love" is a great pick, too.
