Sony Computer Entertainment America has announced its 2007 holiday lineup for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Network and PlayStation Portable. The full list (posted after the break) contains every released and unreleased title the publisher expects to add to the cacophony of "Buy me!" screams echoing throughout the aisles this festive season.
Highlights includes the cringe-inducing PAIN, stealth saga Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus and Lara Croft gender bender, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune for PS3. You'll also spot a burst of confidence regarding the timely arrival of one Unreal Tournament III, despite the fact that publisher Midway has written it off for 2007. Is Epic Games going to perform an unlikely Unreal miracle, or did someone miss the memo?

Hey, get it right Gonk! Seeing it was one of the few parts without problems.
It should be something more like
"That list is so hot I might need oven mitts"
then
"That will stop you from picking up the ps3 controller, which is about equal to how well the controls in Lair worked anyway."

How would the 360's line up differ? Halo 3...came out 2 months ago...Bioshock, came out 4 months ago...lots of multi-platformers and one new entry, Mass Effect. Why don't you stick to the 360 Fanboy site and quit trolling.

i wasn't being sarcastic cc123. that was an honest question.
i will say this though, saying this in July - when none of those games were out - is a lot different than saying it in November, when the majority of the listed games have been out for months.

Fair enough.
"i will say this though, saying this in July - when none of those games were out - is a lot different than saying it in November, when the majority of the listed games have been out for months."
Come on... here is Microsoft's heading from the second link:
"Xbox 360 Showcases Greatest Holiday Lineup in Video Game History Headlined by “Halo 3,” “Grand Theft Auto IV,” “Madden NFL 08” and “Rock Band”"
They were claiming a game that didn't even come out this year as part of the greatest holiday lineup ever! Whatever though, just similar kinds of marketing nonsense in my book.

i spose. but again, in July 2007, when these MS statements were made, GTAIV was coming out this year..

Judging from all the mistakes, bugs, and general problems Sony has had over the course of the last two years, I'd say that rushing Unreal Tournament 3 to be finished before Xmas would be a huge mistake. If the game shipped with bugs, they wouldn't get fixed til after the holidays, most likely.

Not too much going on across all fronts. A large majority are multiplatform, and will end up doing better on 360...

I totally agree - Ratchet and Clank is the only thing on the PS3 that really peaks my interest (that I can't otherwise play on my 360).
One game can't justify the price tag.
Oh well, I've been thinking that the PS3 won't mature until late next year, so we'll see what holiday 2008 holds, I suppose.

I don't get it. Why would you buy anything for just ONE of the features? You don't buy a car JUST because it has a big engine, or a nice stereo, or sweet rims (if that's really your thing...)You try to get one with good stuff all around.
I have a PS3 and I DON'T have R&C. Yet, I still find myself playing the thing every day...and yes I do have a 360 and a Wii.

if the PS3 came out this year, it could've actually been considerably more powerful than the 360.
a whole year was lost between the machine's releases.

I really think the PS3 is getting on track this holiday. It has a good price point (finally!), some games that appeal to (some of) their market, and some honest-to-God GOOD advertising. I expect the PS3 to start coming into its own as a platform from now through Spring 08. Unfortunately for Sony that means millions in losses, but hopefully they can make it up somewhere. [maybe by making consumers by three different types of controls?]
As for me, I want to like some of these games. I really do, but I can't. Anything that is good is multiplatform and anything that is exclusive is either a played-out, old-formula, a gimmicky game, or a poorly-reviewed bust. The 360 and the Wii are offering too much this year and early 08 for me to even consider the PS3.
