Those of you who downloaded the US version on your PAL or Asian territory consoles may have found yourselves in uncharted (hah! we're punny) waters, as you would reportedly receive a message that asked you to insert a disc to play the game, essentially locking you out of the demo. According to SCEA Line Producer Sam Thompson, the prompt is an unintentional "bug."
"Please ignore this prompt and accept our apologies," said Thompson, in a nod that almost indicates Sony is supportive of (or at least apathetic to) PS3 owners using multiple ID names to download content from various regions. No word on when the demo will be ready for Japan, but hopefully eager gamers in the region can download the bug-free PAL version.

but after playing the demo, i was thoroughly impressed, and will say it again. This game should be seeing similiar amounts of hype that Gears did last year. it deservs it. I enjoyed this demo of the first level much more than i did the 1st level of gears.

No but really, before playing the demo I wasn't to sure about buying the game.
Now that I played it, it's growing on me while I play through the different dificulty levels.
Do you not think Uncharted will be easily the best PS3 exclusive to date?

Nice graphics though...it'll be interesting to see how this sells.
Also gave R&C a chance and while it was graphically beautiful it didn't really amaze me with anything in terms of gameplay or storyline.

Which might not include much new things, but I really couldn't find anything wrong there except for slow movement in over-the-shoulder view.

Region locking is nothing new. In fact, this is the first thing ever on PS3 to be region locked. Neither 360 nor Wii could make the same claim. And they said it was a mistake, period.

it does not have better graphics than gears of war however. just look at the particle effects!! terrible - they look like they are from doom!
i'll still pick up the game though.

Bottom line is: It wasn't intentionally region-locked, it was a bug, it's now been sorted so everyone can play!
Impressions of demo: Very nice eye candy but the gameplay offers nothing new, coupled with the fact of clunky control system, unintelligent cameraviews and very repetitive gameplay, it's a bit like Stranglehold really - so, don't believe the hype!
Worth a rent or two, might be worth getting when its at budget range.
4/10 - "Disappointing".
