Joystiq really ought to just disable comments when they do a PS3 post.

Why? it's the only attention the PS3 gets, Zing!

That's a pretty bold stance to take, considering not even MS blames God for the red rings.

There's some news floating around that another customer service rep said that dust was not a warranty breaker. Hopefully this guy gets his PS3 fixed.

Good thing. The only moving part in the PS3 is supposedly the BluRay drive, so dust shouldn't even be a factor.

Sony to kid: "Jesus Christ, don't send it back to us we have a hard enough time getting rid of them!"

Has a nice conversation with a customer service rep with plenty of comedy gold. Ive obviously with plenty of experience talking on the subject pretty much corners this poor guy. I feel sorry for the guy. Goes to work then BAM has a pound of dust on his ass.

I wonder if someone smokes in his house. That could be the reason. Another reason could be it collected so much dust because there was nothing to play on it. I think the reason that people hate sony is because they are arrogant. Do you all remember the hoax they tried to pull off on all of us with kill zone(it might have been a different game) for the ps3. I remember when they showed the demo at some trade show some years back and tried to say that what they were showing was in game graphics. It turned out that it was not what they claimed it to be. This is one reason why I think that there is a lot of hatred for them.

My hole family smokes cigarettes so my 360 had more dust then a dirt road in it. I didn't even try to clean it when my 2005 model gave out 2 months ago I just sent it like that 17 or 18 days later after I got my box to mail it. I had a brand new 360 waiting for me. The 360 was even stating to turn color from all the smoking. Now that's customer service at least I think so.

One of the PS3 Firmware updates is apparently to help the PS3 transform into a vacuum.

Ive always notice when some bad news about the 360 or Wii comes up PS3 fans laugh. but when something bad about the PS3 comes out Its heresy and lies against the great God Sony. Get a Life Sony fanboys I'm not MS fanboy Iove the 360 but hate windows. The Wii is awesome. And the PS3 would be cool if theyre were some exclusives beside MGS. MGS is not a system seller. And if Blu Ray loses oh well You're screwed. Enjoy your Beta max Sony.

The dude is lying.

He said that he got the PS3 two weeks after the purchase, but the date on his purchase was november 26, 2006; yet he says the PS3 is eight months old at the time of the incident. He also says in a response to me on the first story that "the situation only occured 2 DAYS AGO" (not the return, but the call), so that in and of itself makes the PS3 older than eight months according to the reciept, plus in the other story he said he got the PS3 two weeks after the PS3 was recieved. Unless it took a few months to arrive, I think he lied. He's now saying he didn't keep track. Heck, he can't keep track of his original reciept, he can't keep track of months, he can't keep track of anything that can be considered evidence. He even listed some of his multiple posts saying other people posted them. It's all bull to the fullest.

LOL, Well Two FUD stories in one Month...first the 40% failure and now this

Geez, are you people so desperate to bash sony that you are now just making shit up? I mean really, this is sad even for the anti-sony folks....for a second even I believed it until I actually researched it my damn self instead of just pulling up some random blog and taking that as truth without cross checking it with a few other sources.....

but we don't want that, we want to just bash sony because we are so comfortable with the wii60, no insecurity here

I still have my launch 360. I played COD4 multiplayer for 4 hours straight last night. Yes, I have too much free time. But yes, it was insanely fun.

Not buying a 360 for fear of RROD is self-defeating, I think. It has a huge library of amazing games and a superb online experience. Odds are if you take care of your stuff you will not have a problem, and will enjoy hours of blissful entertainment.

The Lord works in mysterious ways. In his good and honest forsight, God knew that the PS3 is a product of evil and in his wisdom he smited(?) it with his dust of forgiveness. Now the owner can repent and be cleansed in his unholy purchase. The best way to do this is to buy a 360 or Wii...

Amen.
