After publishing giant EA shut down its EA Chicago studio amidst profitability concerns, many employees found themselves burdened with the unenviable task of seeking employment elsewhere. 1UP points out that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare developer Infinity Ward may just suffice as a potential "elsewhere."
Over the weekend, a helping hand was extended through the World War Now shooter's "Message of the Day" screen: "EA Chicago: Infinity Ward is hiring. jobs@infinityward.com."

I think those former EA Chicago employees are too busy being stressed out about having to find a new job to be playing COD4 to notice that that MOTD.
Wheeew, run on.

Nice as hell of them. Maybe I'll be giving COD4 another chance.

Maybe I'd be playing if something wasn't wrong with Live for me, or if Xbox.com were working right now. Either way, I can't sign into either, so I might be working on my SP achievements.

The interview goes something like this:
IW: So, your interested in working for us?
FormerEA: Yes, I'm really excited for the opportunity to take a shit in a box and sell it on the games market again.
IW: Excuse me, what was that?
FEA: Oh, uh, nothing, just my Tourettes.
IW: I have Tourettes, too. Get the F*** out of my office.

The talent you mentioned shouldn't be confused with their attempts at trying to sound cool and be "innovative" with their Def Jam fighting "game".

You know, to be fair, very few people make decisions on what is done at any given studio. It is VERY likely EA told EA Chicago what to do. In fact, since I had friends working there, I can confirm that to be fact.
Many of the people there were talented individuals who's only crime was doing what the man with the paychecks told em to.

Erm, I'm not sure if I'd interpret this as a kind gesture as much as a shot at EA.
Infinity Ward are made up of EA-exiles, so it's natural that they'd want to express to EA Chicago (and the COD4-playing community), "Hey, EA let you go for a reason that wasn't necessarily connected to the games you're producing as a studio, but due to their poor business practices and losses overall."
It's more of a "told ya" than anything else, I think.
And yeah...old freaking "news," ugh. This has been up for days. Please, Joystiq. Don't give me any more reasons to read the full-of-itself, arrogant Kotaku.

I took it as a shot at the MOH series at first. Sort of like a "heh, COD kicked your asses" kind of thing.

Hmmm...Quite frankly, I think IW could use a helping hand right about now. (!!) If it was meant to be funny, I ain't laughing. Seems COD4 is proving to be trickier to keep online than they thought. I know the PS3 version has had its share of problems, but it would seem to have also single handedly taken away many a 360 gamer's ability to play on XBOX live. Perhaps the key reason why Live is going down for "maintenance" early in the AM.

I thought it was funny.
I shunned off Call of Duty after all these rehashes of WW games. Finally making the jump to current times made the game a lot more exciting and interesting.
