Geometry Wars: Galaxies delayed to 2008 in Europe
Originally scheduled for holiday 2007 releases, it seems that both the Nintendo Wii and DS versions of Geometry Wars: Galaxies have been pushed back to next year in Europe, according to publisher Sierra Entertainment.
Now scheduled for release on January 18, the newly-expanded versions of the Xbox Live Arcade classic feature more than 60 planets on which to shoot and evade hostile shapes. Uniquely, both versions also support the ability to wirelessly beam the full version of Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved to a Nintendo DS portable.
It's worth noting that these delays only affect the European releases; the Wii and DS versions in North America are still scheduled for release on November 20th and 27th, respectively. Sorry, Europe. We'll let you know how it is.

I've never played Geometry Wars, but it doesn't seem like the type of game where voice/text localization are going to be a big factor...

That just sold me the Wii version over the DS one.

Actually, the DS version can beam a full version of Retro Evolved to other DS's as well. You might as well buy both and unlock the bonus levels, since Wii is only $39 and DS is only $29.

Yeah, but even though I want to have it on both the Wii and DS, the only DS I plan on beaming it to is my own.

Excuse me? You "might as well" spend $70 on a budget shoot-'em-up?
I think the Wii really is spewing mind control rays, or something.

I wasnt going to buy the wii version anyways, hohohoho. God bless Region free handhelds and the weak american dollar. Delicious half price imports :D

I'll see what reviews say about the DS controls because I have no opinion of my own.
Anyways, looking forward to Contra 4: the rest is secondary.

Geometry Wars: Galaxies?!
Its going to be good until they come out with Geometry wars: Galaxies NGE. Where there will only be 9 shapes and you can play jedi from the start.
