Next time on life:
Random obsessed video game player kills the 10th target in Assassin's Creed and discovers hash inside the console!
"" "" "" "" "" beats 'Won't get fooled again' with a keyboard on expert in Rock Band, such a discovery forces Larry Probst to admit the fact that he is indeed addicted to Heroin
And finally Duke Nukem: Forever is actually released at which point calculators are able to divide by zero and the world implodes.

This was the WORST episode of LIFE by far. The show's actually been really good from episode one. It seems like the writers took a crap on this script. There's actually a scene where Charlie (the lead det.) screws his computer up by merely pouring liquid into his KEYBOARD! Seriously.

Good god. That was... wow. Just wow. I realize that writing a TV show is hard, but there's no denying the sheer lack of talent present in that scene. How? Because the video game portion wasn't the worst part.

You guys may think you're being insulted, because you actually know how Sands of Time plays, but try being a mathematician. We have crap like Good Will Hunting, Pi, Numb3rs, and Lost to insult our intelligence.

It seems like medical and legal shows are the only ones where any attempt is made at consulting for accuracy. Otherwise you just have completely moronic things thrown in. Often they sound like the writers have learned all the occupational background from a verse of "These are the people in your neighborhood."

And that's why I turn my brain off before watching something made in Hollywood, otherwise, I could catch some stupidity from them.

My good friend is a doctor. I am an attorney. We would both probably question what you consider an "attempt" to consult for accuracy for our respective practices.

It's bad for us, just maybe not as bad as it is for you seeing a board with integrals and series scribbled all over it supposedly illustrating string theory.

You guys should watch Chuck. Not just because the writing is pretty good and it has Jain from Firefly, not just because the (relatively few) video game references appear to have actually been researched, but because it's funny.

The lead characters own modern consoles (it's not set in 2007 with them playing on an Xbox 1, like some people...) and the guy with a 360 is playing a Halo game, not something unavailable for the platform (like, say, Excel). He's also using a 360 controller, which is a lot better matching than some of the shows I've seen.

The reason they were playing Prince of Persia was because the kids who got killed at the beginning of the episode were Persian. Yes, the plot was really that bad.

If that black tech guy was really "30, living w/ his parents, w/ a captain kirk outfit", he would have just pulled out his save module and loaded up his "level 10" dude. I'm betting he's 28, lives in an apartment, and has a girlfriend or something, which is why he couldn't get passed level 3.

That was great! What a bad show.... I loved the way everyone was watching the game with such hopeful and heroic expressions. Reminds me of the great acting in the abomination to films and video game culture movie, "Stay Alive"

I'll admit that episode was crap, but the show has actually been a pretty good detective show so far. The writing definitely went down the toilet for that episode, but overall the show is pretty well written, and the main character (Charlie Crews) has some great lines. One of the premises of the show is that while he was in prison (he was framed), instead of converting to some christian or islamic religion, he turned zen, not really buddhist, but close to it. Also, he's fascinated by all the new technology that came about while he was in jail for 12 years, so that's funny too.

Ugh. I can't tell which is more egregious: The blatant product placement, or the gross inaccuracies relating to how the technology is portrayed.

What. The. Fuck.

Now, take away the bad text on screen and make it a game that is more like a puzzle game... AND let it open a network connection to the computer next to it. THEN I might believe this crock of bull.

When I submitted this, I kind of regretted it because I love this show. It's my favorite of the new shows.

But honestly this scene is pretty f**king stupid.

And the writers' strike strikes, I suppose. I watched the first episode and liked it. Not the greatest ever or anything, but watchable. Now I know I don't have to bother buying the box set. Thanks morons.

So this guy has to play Prince of Persia 2 10 levels before he can edit his spreadsheet? That's brilliant! Beats the hell out of using a good password on his file or computer. (sarcasm)

Ok, yeah, I just watched it. That was actually much worse than I envisioned. Are the directors' and actors' guilds on strike too, because that's some god awful direction and acting to go along with the embarrassing writing? I'd rather watch the Double Dragon movie than that shit. And who the bloody fuck MOVES THEIR THUMBS when watching someone else play games. DOES. NOT. HAPPEN. Maybe they should have gotten input from someone, who, you know, knew what a video game console actually was, and, gasp, might have even played one. Not to mention how 2004 using a Xbox. Jesus, what drivil.

First off, I thought It was funny how they referenced gamers as low lifes, he made comments such as I live with my mother Im 30 years old, I have some costume in his closet. I thought it was really lame how the girl was playing in the background. First off, who would do that to that kind of game to where anyones moves could be different. its nothing like Guitar Hero or something where you could do the same move as them. I feel sorry for the writers that they would think that something like this would be worth getting more money to make. They Suck!!

Hi Predatorian234.. you make a great point!

I wonder if Ubisoft had any part in this? I mean, one would think that they'd need Ubi's permission to use their game in this show, and I sure as hell (were I in Ubi's shoes) would not let this abomination stand. The thing that kills me is that in 10 minutes, I could have written a small edit to the plot that would have withstood the scrutiny of the community. My consulting fees are very reasonable ;-)

Seriously, the Xbox runs Excel? On Windows XP? This kid has to stop dealing drugs and go work for Microsoft, because the hacker community has been trying to do this for years and gotten effectively nowhere.
