Agreed on SA1. But truth be told, it's not exactly a good choice regardless. It's like voting for your favorite headbutting midget in a viking helmet. No matter who wins, it's still painful.

Or voting for president. No matter who wins, they're still out to dick you.

God, December 18th.
...at least someone can get me something for Christmas, but it pretty much kills the games already slim chances.

It looks a lot better, though.
...but I really hope it has motion controls. They would have been better off putting it on the 360 if it doesn't, as much as it pains me to say that.

I'm sorry, but by that logic, the PS2 should have gotten NO games at all last generation.

awesome, another Wii game that fails to deliver on the revolutionary control promise. Graphics are soooo unimportant, lets use a painfully incomfortable remote control-as-gamepad to control our game while we're at it... ugh.. the wii is such a disappointment.

I bought my Wii as a new Gamecube. If I'm buying at least 4 games a year, it's worth owning. If it was your only system, yeah, it could be a disappointment. But as a distraction, it's nice.

Where are all the comments about the controls coming from? From what I've read for controls:

1. Wiimote only, you control NiGHTS by pointing the IR cursur where you want him to go, and A and B are used for boost and acrobatics (probably a dumb choice)
2. Wiimote & Nunchuck, with the same controls as Saturn version (best choice)

I've only ever had problems with the nunchuck. The remote itself is plenty comfy. Nunchuck is just a hair too small.

@jsn

"another Wii game that fails to deliver on the revolutionary control promise." "lets use a painfully incomfortable remote control-as-gamepad to control our game while we're at it"

1. I guess you haven't played RE4,MP3C,Zak&Wiki or Super Mario Galaxy. because those games control just fine.

"Graphics are soooo unimportant"

2. PS2 is a 7 year old console that's still going strong. It doesn't have the power of a 360 or PS3, but it's still selling. The same thing will happen to the Wii. We just need the 3rd devs to grow up alittle bit. (Stop crying over the Wii's graphics and just try an make a game for it)

Nice. I have been waiting for this. Graphics look really nice...

But, the kids running around with eggs(?) looks like a Sonic game I already have.

Looks pretty good but here's my impressions (and yes I still own NiGHTS and Christmas NiGHTS)

+graphics pretty good
+overall design similar to NiGHTS
+looks like they have not strayed too far from NiGHTS

-NiGHTS as a boat is dumb
-hopefully platforming as kids is minimal. It looks boring. It was in the end of NiGHTS but only for a minute, and kind of as a cool surprise
-I dunno what I think about the masks. Then again in the original NiGHTS you automatically turned into a dolphin, rocket, sled, etc at certain points based on context sensitive actions.

Also I really hope they make acrobatics DO SOMETHING this time, maybe even just add 10 points to your score. It's not a lot but it could add up if you finish the whole level chaining acrobatic moves together.

Well from here it looks like a solid 7 which is good considering this is modern Sega.

I hope the A-life system is as good as SA1-2. I really loved my little Chao. Added tons of replay factor and extended the life of the games for me about a hundredfold.

Sweet, this game just keeps looking better

It's a good thing they're using one of the original developers to direct this, keeps the whimsy and beauty of the original, even on the far-less-than-cutting-edge Wii

happy time to own a Wii and be a Sega fanboy

The flying sections are looking better and better all the time.

But seriously, Sega, why can't you get over this "well, we've added some platforming sections to break up the flying sections."

We don't WANT to break up the flying sections. The flying sections are GOOD. That's why we WANT THE GAME.

It's the same mentality that gave us the multiple characters in Sonic Adventure 2. No, Sega, we DON'T need the high speed action broken up by slow exploration and/or half-assed shooting levels. WE BUY SONIC GAMES TO PLAY SONIC.

At very least, I hope you can just replay the flying levels in JoD after you beat the game. The beauty of the original NiGHTS was replaying the levels are going for massive scores and chains. Online leaderboards would make it super-sweet.

Everyone always disagrees with this, but i LOVED the Treasure-hunting levels, i'll agree on the shooting levels, they were just poorly executed, but the treasure-hunting levels kicked ass

The game looks great. I was worried when they announced it for Wii that they would change the whole game around for the new controls, but I'm happy to see the game looks very much like the original. It would be great if it controls only with the analog stick and doesn't use the motion controls at all. And since we should have gotten a new NiGHTS game last generation, it makes sense that it's for Wii.
