2K Games: No Bioshock on PS3; stop asking

Clearly Bioshock publisher 2K Games is sick of people asking about a potential PS3 port of the title. Despite rumors suggesting the story-driven FPS might be coming to Sony's side of the fence, 2K Games representatives are adamantly insisting that no such port is in development, now or ever.

We get that they're trying to be clear, but 2K comes off sounding a bit like our dads. Their official statement on the 2K Games forums was: "There will be no PS3 version of BioShock. It has been explained time and time again." A bit harsh, no?

Still, the point has been made. Those looking to get their Little Sister fix will have to turn to the PC or Xbox 360 versions.

I just bought my PS3! When will BioShock be ready!?

BioShock is pretty, and the writing is good. But once you play Portal you realize Bioshock's great writing was really more a parade of funny accents than anything else.

PS3 has a lot of good games to play, Bioshock is not something to pine over this much.

Is BioShock that good of a game? I mean pretty graphics and that's about it. Even if it did come out on the PS3, how many people do you think would be buying is at $60 anyways.
You want to talk games, talk R&C, Uncharted. Those are good games. Not some pretty boy version of your standard FPS. Bioshock was hyped to high heaven, just like any 360 game, and guess what, it turned out to be fairly mediocre, like any 360 game. I eman it happens time and again. The reviewers give 360 games like Halo etc. 10/10, the acne faced XBots get their parents to buy them the games, and then cry and moan about how its really not that good. Go and look for user ratings vs revierwe ratings on any gaming website.

Your ignorance is astounding, try playing the game before saying "it's just the hype".

I own both consoles and I found R&C rather boring (to be fair; I'm 19) and Bioshock one of the most witty and deepest games I've ever played.

Gamespot user score: 9.2
1UP user score: 8.8
IGN user score: 9.0

...and so on. Not to mention that these averaged numbers include people giving out low scores that may not even have played the game and are just getting their 360 hate on.

actually, Bioshock wasn't mediocre, it was pretty damn good. Did you ever play System Shock 2? Do you have any idea what your talking about? R&C? Uncharted? Those mean nothing compared to deep, engaging FPS's. The 360 has a whole library of great titles, Halo 3, Gears of War, Viva Pinata(!!), Crackdown, Fable 2, Forza Motorsport 2, Kameo, Mass Effect, PGR, etc, etc
PS3=buttmunch.

I dunno about "fairly mediocre". Prey was fairly mediocre. Bioshock was better than that. I just don't see it so world-beating that PS3 owners should be pining over it. And it was definitely no 10.

See that's the thing though. You are 19. I enjoyed R&C tremendously. Mainly because I am past that age where I think I can be "leet blowing sh** up". I don't do that anymore. I bet you found Ashley Simpson's latest CD to be "deep and engaging also".
Now that I have that out of my system. Really, Bioshock is nothing more than a pretty boy version of any standard FPS. Its all been done before if you have been gaming for a while. And all the purported depth to the game, the moral issues, there were none. Because it was so black and white. And me, I never hesitated to get my Adam from the girls. There is no issue at all. You get more adam, you play better. Where's the changes to the story line based on your actions like in System Shock. Believe me kid, they sold you a lie, and you bought it.

By the depth and wittiness I meant the script, everything that comes out of Andrew Ryan's mouth is absolutely brilliant and keeps you coming back for more and more.

If it wasn't for Portal, I would have to call Bioshock the most well-written game of all time.

The only people on my house that even remotely enjoy R&C are my 6 year old twins. Ya...it's must have been that the deep level of nuance of R&C TOOLS OF DESTRUCTION went so deep, actual adults don't get it.

Right... I doubt you have any experience at all with R&C.

Anyway, both BioShock and R&C are great games.. and they aren't evem remotely similar. Why is it so impossible to grasp that you can have great games on different platforms?

why are you comparing a "now gen" console to a "last gen"? of course people are gonna buy it for the newer console if they hae one. for a fair comparison why dont you compare the ps2 to the original xbox, who wins there? i have a feeling the same will be said for ps3 and 360 in the future. sure 360 comes out the gates super fast but in the long haul the ps3 will come out on top, it is already starting, with the games coming out for it in the near future the sales are increasing.

except even more games are coming out for the 360 to compete with your ps3. It's not like they'll stop making games for the 360 after this year. Don't forget that because it came out earlier than the ps3, it will sell better because of the bigger line up of games. The ps3 has barely any great titles to sell systems and while you parade them around, I doubt the average person cares about FFXIII or MGS4.

you're saying the ps3 is this gen's xbox and the 360 is this gen's ps2? do you remember which of those older 2 consoles has sold over 120 million units? if the 360 does that that'd be amazing

obviously not but they have stopped making good exclusives. look at the list of announced games, there are zero games that look good to me. i like the 360 but the ps3 will have better games shortly. i want MS to do good, it's more money in my pocket as my wife works for microsoft. but this fanboyism is stupid. people rip on the ps3 for lack of good games which right now is true but when you look at the future it tells a different story.

I meant if the 360 stops having games released for it. I love all the ps boys saying "look at all the games we have comming out" How do you know these games are going to be anything more than average? They may be great games, or they may blow. Lets see what Sony has before we crown them kings of this gen. They havn't proved anything in this latest round to convince me otherwise in my opinion.

I don't think BioShock is coming to PS3 but this was not an official anything. This was just some mod on their forum. They should port it if they legally can, it's clearly something they've been getting enough traffic for that they would make money on it. I don't care though as I didn't even buy it myself (too many shooters on my 360 already---though I'm making an exception for Mass Effect).

Wow, that's pretty definitive. Usually devs leave the door open with a "made no announcement" or "not at this time" caveat. Not this time.

While multiplatform is dandy keen, one cannot really blame the devs/publishers from dumping money into a dirty port that would probably underperform.

If you want to play the game badly enough, buy a 360 or rent one then return it when finished. I want to play FFXIII badly enough, so I bought a PS3. Same with the Wii and Metroid Prime 3.

Well I could care less if it comes to the PS3 personally, cause I've been given it LOTS of love lately on the 360. And as for all the meh comments.. yeh whatever... This is definitely in the running for GOTY, regardless of what comes out. All around VERY WELL DONE. Not even close to your typical FPS.

Oh and I'm 40, so the 'more mature' comments about blowing crap up are BS...lol...

As for games, I've got (in the last 2 weeks)..

H3, COD4, Timeshift (meh), Bioshock, Mass Effect, Lego Star wars (fun for me and kids) Ace combat 6 (pretty cool) and Assassins Creed (sweet game).

I've got so much to play, that who cares about the rest of it all... Oh, yeh, NEXT year...lol... Imagine what 360 and all its devs will have for 2008....:)

Now if I hadn't called a staff meeting this aft, I could leave early and get in a few more Bioshock hours.... :)

It's a shame, more people should play the game, and I doubt it's enough to convince someone to jack in their PS3 for an Xbox 360.

Option #3: Do without.

Obviously BioWare doesn't want my money as a PS3 gamer so that's fine by me. It's kinda funny though, being that the PS3 is the priciest console right now it would seem to make sense that the people who have one must have a decent amount of cash. But I doubt they'd want to do anything silly with it though - you know like buy good games. Nah, didn't think so.

i wanted to point out i was not a ps fanboy, unlike your 3fixme fanboi ass. has nothing to do with me seeing the future. and yes they have a while to announce games but the games they announce in a year wont come out for a year or 2 after that.

Seriously, it's nothing personal but every person I see create a username JUST to ask the same question that's been asked literally thousands of times on the forum (can be easily searched), I either warn or ban the user. It has nothing to do with 2k, it's a matter of being intelligent enough to accept "no" as an answer. Spamming the forum isn't going to make it happen, I promise.

That's the problem though, .5 out of 10 ps3 fanboys don't have a scrap of intelligence, just look at jp. Also, I mean .5 because that last guy is still and idiot for way too much for a console.
