Happy Birthday PS3: The cake is (not) a lie

You've gotta hand it to Sony. This is, as far as our memory serves, the first time we've gotten a birthday cake for somebody else's birthday. Even more unique, that somebody is in fact ... a something! After a slight delay in acquiring the cake last night (it wasn't a lie), we didn't think fair to eat it and not do anything nice in return for our PS3, so we did the nicest thing we could think of. We fed it a birthday present: the deliciously moist Uncharted.

All next week, our pen pals at PS3 Fanboy are celebrating the PStriple's birfday in style: they're giving away an 80GB PS3 and an Uncharted prize pack (with all sorts of cool Uncharted swag!), all wrapped up in commentary on the console's performance thus far.

Sony really has bad timing. Why send out a cake after Portal had been released, especially with their long, long, long record of lying. (Still waiting for Tretton to send me my money.)

I'm pretty sure that they baked the cake on a modified oven-like PS3...

They are giving out the cake because if they tried to sell the cake then they'd end up with a warehouse full of cake because they'd over price the cake and no one would want the cake because the cake had insufficient quality of icing, even if the image on the icing was of a higher resolution.

But, yes, your comment ir right. Plus the cake will have slow diggestion framerates.

This thread is aimed towards PS3 fans primarily and everyone knows that PS3 fans have a shorter attention span than the average gamer so it seemed necessary to mention the topic many times in a short period so that they could keep up with what was being talked about.

yeah, except Sony didn't give us $100 store credit like Apple did for the quick price drop. But whatever, I have my 60gig and am happy with it...

I still want to play Uncharted. I played through the demo before the game came out. Then when it came out the store didn't get it in yet. Then I wait 2 days then try again and still nothing. I've just been to lazy to go back in now. I'm not much of a store person.
