I picked it up, have only just started it really - but so far it's exactly what you'd expect for a dungeon crawler. The graphics could have been better, and I think the sound is lacking quite a bit...but mini puzzles and smile killing always makes for a pretty good game right?

btw, this game is pretty hard to find - I couldn't find it at the local gamestop, one walmart had none, one walmart had a few, and hastings had only one. Also, if you are excited about the free stylus thing - it comes inside the box, so don't worry if it doesn't look like it's packaged with a freebie!

No worries. I check Metacritics nightly and was there the day they added Orcs & Elves to the front page listing. At that time there were only two professional reviews (80 & 80), and one user rating: 0.0. Then that jumped to 5.0 (so the 2nd vote must have been a 10), and the 3rd vote kept it at 5.0 (so must have been about 7).

That first vote appeared way too early to have been objective, I believe. I haven't played the game, but the user was either mistaken or disgruntled.

The yeas still have it.

Brittany: I was convinced when you mentioned the stylus, but I checked around online and according to the message boards, the bonus stylus isn't always included. Many people never got one.

I hope I get one.

Gamestop unwrapped and opened one in front of me: no stylus. The word from gamespot.com is that Wal-Mart has the styluses insides the box, and it says so on the box itself. I called 4 Wal-Marts and none had it in stock, so I ordered from walmart.com. We'll see what happens.

Argh, I'm sorry for the misinformation guys.

Mine says explicitly on the back that it includes the free stylus - I know it it just for a limited time but I figured all the initial shipments would come with the stylus.

Thanks for the clarification everyone - btw I think I forgot to mention earlier that the one I got that came with the stylus was from Walmart.
