Drake's Fortune came out last week.
Christopher Grant @ Nov 19th 2007 9:05AM
It was released early in some stores last week, but the official release date is still this week.
dsub @ Nov 19th 2007 9:06AM
and good luck getting a copy of Rock Band. It's gonna be as hard to find as the Wii was last Christmas.
dsub @ Nov 19th 2007 9:07AM
Ah, I see. Sorry. The store I work at had it last week, so I just assumed.
Christopher Grant @ Nov 19th 2007 9:05AM
HOLY CARP!
Jerk Face @ Nov 19th 2007 9:14AM
That is one pious fish!
StrangeBum @ Nov 19th 2007 10:35AM
Just seeing your Snake avatar and a comment saying nothing other than 'HOLY CARP!' just made my day.
Thank-you Chris Grant!

Shut up hotness.
ScreamingSkull @ Nov 19th 2007 9:07AM
I'm interested to see how Unreal Tournament does, long way back I loved the series and if it works out on consoles I wouldn't kick it out of bed for eating crackers.
dsub @ Nov 19th 2007 9:09AM
Based on the Demo, it's everything that was great about 2004, but better with extra stuff added in. I'm curious if it'll make it out for the PS3 before Christmas. Rein seems to think so, but every release list has it pegged as coming out the first of February.
Jeff @ Nov 19th 2007 9:34AM
Dsub basically nailed it. Everything good about UT 99 and UT2k4, and then refined, added to, and improved.
I've played it using my 360 controller a bit, and the new, weightier feel to movement, I think, will work out pretty well on consoles.
Jake @ Nov 19th 2007 1:06PM
I am a little concerned that Epic embargoed all early review possibilities. They didn't let any publication have a copy of the game to get an advanced review out for it. Most AAA titles sell those advanced copies and review rights. It just makes me feel like Epic is somehow not confident on its reception.
I could be totally off base though since most all impressions are positive at this point. We'll see. I am mostly interested at how well the console versions turn out.
copa @ Nov 19th 2007 9:09AM
I'm planning on re-enacting all those 'Wii at Thanksgiving' scenarios from last year with Rock Band.
Great game, and great on both platforms!
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Nov 19th 2007 9:10AM
I would have gotten Mass Effect on friday, but it looks like that's not going to be possible.
sigh, I need some monies.
LAZoftheTamarinds @ Nov 19th 2007 9:23AM
I saw Uncharted on the 16th at gamespot. Was going to buy it but only had $44.36 on me.
SIGH. :(
Silent Xenocide @ Nov 19th 2007 9:51AM
Ryuusei no Rockman 2 comes out this week too, should be pretty good.
FidliousWong @ Nov 19th 2007 9:24AM
ZOMG! No wii games on the image! Joystiq is Tobias! Or Saibot, smoky trick bastard of a ninjas be they.
PrinceAngelic @ Nov 19th 2007 9:47AM
Glad someone else noticed it.
At the very least Trauma Center: New Blood should be in there...
FidliousWong @ Nov 19th 2007 11:37AM
Oy! The irony!
Michael C. Sherrin @ Nov 19th 2007 9:28AM
I feel so poor after last week (I also got Uncharted last week). But with Mass Effect and Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings coming out, I think I just might have to go without meals for another week.

Make sure you eat so little that you get the special edition Mass Effect!
Not that I condone malnutrition for video games, but still.
samfish @ Nov 19th 2007 9:32AM
Well, Wallet, it seems to me that you're safe this week.
...although if I see Geometry Wars for $30 somewhere, I might buy it. SO not using my Toys 'R' Us card from Galaxy on it, though.
...although Toys 'r' us IS having that buy 2 get 1 free sale one Wii games...
Hmm...maybe you're NOT so safe this week, Wallet...
Shagittarius @ Nov 19th 2007 11:07AM
Way to display your terrible and fanboy based taste in games. Enjoy your kiddie machine.
FidliousWong @ Nov 19th 2007 11:40AM
Shags, just leave. Seriously.
Crono (NDF - Knight of the Old School) @ Nov 19th 2007 11:52AM
Well, what do you play shag.
Oh, it doesn't matter, because Wii has the highest rated game of all time, and can play the top 3 highest rated games of all time.
You lose.
samfish @ Nov 19th 2007 12:40PM
Wow, you must have had an extra large glass of Carnation Instant Bitch this morning, Shagi!
And I wouldn't play Mass Effect if you gave it to me for free, since that's probably what crawled up your dick and died.
Clack @ Nov 19th 2007 5:48PM
"Way to display your terrible and fanboy based taste in games."
We can't all be as unbiased as you.
PrinceAngelic @ Nov 19th 2007 9:35AM
I'm getting Mass Effect of course...and maybe Rock Band.
gone with the wind @ Nov 19th 2007 9:51AM
well i will be getting mass effect im not sure if i will like it but i have heard good things so i will try it i guess i wish there was a demo for it, i am also going to get uncharted drakes fourtune after playing the demo i have to buy it. with that being said what good games are coming out next week?
PrinceAngelic @ Nov 19th 2007 9:53AM
Mass Effect 9.4 according to IGN
Higher than Uncharted...thats MONEY!
And yes that was way fanboyish but I don't care...
samfish @ Nov 19th 2007 10:20AM
Mass Effect got a 9.4 on IGN??
On the Wii podcast a few weeks ago they were talking about it and they basically said they we're probably going to give it a 10.
Oh well.
xXFenixKnightXx @ Nov 19th 2007 10:03AM
MASS EFFECT for the mother fricken win!! Cant wait!!
Game Trailers 9.6
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/27704.html
If I had a PS3 I would get Uncharted of course. Maybe on Christmas ;)
Taco_Hell @ Nov 19th 2007 10:05AM
Ah Mass Effect, in just 2 days you'll be in my hands. I'll probably also get Rock Band in Best Buy's midnight launch, but Mass Effect is more important as I'm such a Bioware-whore than I even argued with my bro to see who would pop Mass Effect's cherry.
Jonah Falcon @ Nov 19th 2007 10:09AM
And College Hoops 2K8 is lost in the shuffle. I'm really looking forward to it.
baby sea tuna @ Nov 19th 2007 10:17AM
Good thing I've been slowly paying off Rock Band for like 3 weeks now...even if it meant selling off all of my other GH games in the process.
EvanB @ Nov 19th 2007 10:27AM
Buying Mass Effect this week.
Been looking forward to it for 25 months, got a chance to play it earlier this month at BioWare's community event and it's everything I wanted it to be. Game of the year, can't wait to get my hands on my own copy.
Kyattsuai @ Nov 19th 2007 10:40AM
It's really strange that I started out totally unexcited about Rock Band when they announced it, and now I'm almost at the point that I might have to get a 360 this Black Friday so I can play it. I say "almost" because there's still the issue of where the hell I'm going to find $500+...
Martin @ Nov 19th 2007 10:58AM
Hye justin Mcfanboy,
Add up theres a Wii game, n00b. Trauma center = teh awesome and you are tobias for not putting it up their.
Keep up the goud werk :)
Love,
Asshat
ThornedVenom @ Nov 19th 2007 10:58AM
I crave UT3, but I have so much schoolwork nowadays that I have to force myself to wait until December... the demo blows my mind away.
For graphical performance, of course Crysis beats it, but damned that addictive gameplay! Hoverboards really change the experience in vehicule maps.
gonk @ Nov 19th 2007 11:14AM
why wasn't petz dogz 2 in the picture? tobias
FidliousWong @ Nov 19th 2007 11:39AM
Shags... just leave before someone hurts you.
Shagittarius @ Nov 19th 2007 12:20PM
Put down the keyboard before you hurt yourself Wong.
Crono (NDF - Knight of the Old School) @ Nov 19th 2007 11:42AM
No Strawberry Shortcake 4 TOBIAS!~
ogvor @ Nov 19th 2007 12:14PM
I'm wondering how Unreal Trournament III is going to do, because from what the guys on the GFW podcast said, it sound kinda derivative. The whole taunting thing (Eff Yeah!) they made sound pretty hilarious though.
I'll be gladly picking up the game I bought my Xbox 360 for:
MASS EFFECT!!!!!
Atomicwaist @ Nov 19th 2007 12:17PM
Yay for Square and Sony releasing FF XI Collection for the PS2 without the HDD, and without thinking about all the consumers who has the slim version with no way of "installing" a HDD without an external USB drive.
And I can already hear everyone yelling about the network download thing.
Rob Accomando @ Nov 19th 2007 12:35PM
John Deere and Discovery Channel have games coming out? Umm...ok.
Todd @ Nov 19th 2007 12:41PM
Why have "The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles" when there is a Game of the Year edition which contains the main game plus both expansions?
gonk @ Nov 19th 2007 12:46PM
maybe the goty edition costs more?
Ben @ Nov 19th 2007 2:49PM
If you bought the original, then you can get Shivering Isles for $30 instead of buying the GOTY edition for $60 and getting a second copy of the original with it.
Jake @ Nov 19th 2007 1:17PM
I've read a few reviews of Mass Effect. They basically say to me that it is the best RPG ever.
There are some serious technical flaws and the combat isn't tight enough to stand on its own as a combat only game (i.e. as a shooter).
However, I have yet to read anyone say the combat in Mass Effect doesn't surpass the vast majority of RPG's in depth/action/fun. I have yet to read anyone say that there is better story/universe/voicework in any other game out there. I have yet to hear anyone say the glitches or frame drops are anywhere near as bad as Oblivion, which is my favorite RPG in a few years. Plus I love sci-fi type shit like this.
So yeah. Pretty damn stoked about Mass Effect to say the least. This or Galaxy for game of the year in my opinion. There are great shooters this year but Mass Effect and Galaxy have really set themselves apart in their genres much better than in the fps catergory where everything is crowded in quality.
Like Galaxy is a great change of pace for me and my shooter heavy collection of this year Mass Effect will be another great breath of fresh air.
