First vote, cause I voted before the story went live. (Sneaky devil, I know.) But I'm not playing favorites. My core band members are probably going to stick to guitar, so I'll be hitting the drums or (Eek! The Cat) Vocals.

I want to purchase just the Rockband game and use my GH3 Les Paul with it. Will any USB mic work with Rockband? Since I will be playing mainly by myself with the guitar and maybe a mic with my wife, can I join other people online who has drums and a bass guitar for CoOp Tour? I read that some online functionality is missing, online CoOp one of them?

I'd like to try vocals if I didn't have to buy the uberpack(know all the words to a lot of the songs), but as it stands, I like playing Bass in GHII and III, so I'll probably stick with that.

Vocals and Bass all the way for me.

I am an actual drummer, and unfortunately my years of play with a real drum set has left Rock Band's drumset feeling very awkward. Things are positioned incorrectly and the way the game encourages you to hold the sticks feels all wrong to me. *sigh* I really wanted to rock out with the drums for this game too, but I can still rock the vocals and bass. :)

Drums... because I want to skill up my rhythmic abilities, and eventually I would like to work out a way to hook the kit up to my Mac and use it to record electronic drums in iDrum or Ultrabeat.

A friend was saing any USB mic or the headset would work from reading the packaging. I only got to do 4 songs before work 2 drum 2 mic and the MIC can simulate a Cowbell there was a part on one of the songs mind is blank at the moment but it had round markers and it registers just hitting it against your hand.

The drums look pretty cool since rock band has some rush in it.

@10

The Mic works like many other singing games its pitched based so not so much getting the words right(though words can affect the flow as they affect pitch) It has an arrow that goes up and down based on pitch you could hum I suppose to pass a song. But I believe it has some method of comparing the pitch of your voice to the the games expected pitch and judges success on that I also believe it auto adjust to the pitch of your voice cause if not it would be impossible for some low or high songs to be sung by folks on the whose voice was extreme opposite.

Umm, not the any guitar part that's for sure. Whether I use my X-plorer, wireless Les Paul, or Stratocaster, the game registers my strums as double or triple strums and it has gotten really frustrating!

Dunno...I'll likely not even open the box up yet. It's still sitting in my living room. Mass Effect is here, and that's going to get my attention for a good long time.

I enjoy playing them all, although Bass isn't quite as much fun as the other three.

The game can make use of any USB mic, it's actually listed as one of the tips in the games loading screens.

It looks like a lot of people are going to have an easy time finding a drummer. I like playing the bass part myself, this game looks like it is going to be a blast.

Those having problems with a Mic... plug in the mic and also turn on one of your regular xbox 360 controllers. Good to go!

I put guitar because I am a GH fan. I don't like the drums cause I'm a real drummer and I feel like a retard playing what the game tells me and not what I want to play. As of now my "band" puts me as a singer cause my "bandmates" don't know English well.

Have you guys heard of problems with the instruments like with guitar hero 2? That's really the only thing holding me back from buying this bad boy.

I bought this Mainly for the drums b/c my Rythm is UnChallenged. But I have to snatch the mic away from my girl when Creep or Say It Aint So comes up in those random sets. I'
m all like, "YOU'RE BUTCHERING MY SONG!!!". Then she cries because I get 100% and she's supposed to be the lead singer. MUAhahahaha

Man, this game is awesome! I enjoy it 10X Guitar Hero III (wasn't impressed, nothing going for it). My only issues were with the Mic, could NOT get it to work until I finally called my other friend who got it, he quickly told me to turn on a controller. Also, the wires... damn the wires. .. sometimes its really hard trying to get all the instruments to turn on and become the right player. But, in spite of those two issues, this game is very, VERY impressive. Much more than I thought it would be. Wow.

THANKS to everyone who gave advice about getting the mic to work! Very helpful. I just bought Rock Band and was looking forward to singing but couldn't get the mic to work. I didn't realize I had to turn on my XBOX controller too. I was getting ready to return it to Best Buy and say it was defective haha. Got it working!
