After last week's report of Haze being on track for a December release, we're now prompted to point out the rather abrupt appearance of a detour in-between the metaphorical train and its final stop at the PlayStation 3. It seems the designers at Free Radical didn't receive nearly enough coal to reach the lead platform in time for Christmas, and now hope that you'll conduct your purchase of their first-person shooter in the first quarter of 2008.
Thankfully devoid of increasingly insufferable train puns, a Gamasutra article details the delay mentioned within Ubisoft's favorable first-half financial results. Sales for le publisher rose by 52% to $372.86 million, with profits jumping up 12% to $44.8 million. You might consider the money already spent on Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2, expected to arrive in the same quarter as Haze. Not much is known about the sequel, save that it'll (probably) feature soldier-types shooting up evil, one-armed bandits.
Fellow Tom Clancy property, Splinter Cell: Conviction continues to be wishy-washy about a potential release date, as it's also been pushed back to Ubisoft's fiscal year 2008-2009.

Well, you can blame unfamiliarity with the PS3 hardware and a lack of tools/support from Sony on certain 3rd party projects. I think it has more to do with the fact that total software sales on the PS3 are really low and it is quite difficult to profit on a title for that platform right now, making those projects really low priority and prone to strategic delays. Which 3rd party exclusives, not published by Sony, have done well on PS3 so far?
It is hard to say really. I can't see it as a good thing. It isn't like the 360 isn't getting a fair share of delays as well, but they aren't suffering near as bad as Sony for lost exclusives and delayed games.

I'm all for it. More time to play and finish other games, less money out of my wallet, and we the gamers ultimately get a better product.

Normally I might take this opportunity to troll the Sony fanboys a bit, but I'll just say this:
Good job Free Radical. Don't release it if its not ready. The Holiday market (especially for FPSs) was already pretty crowded.

It would not be a surprise if the 360 version is released first.

It's because I'm not really inspired right now (I'm hungry and I haven't sleep well).
But past weekend, oh men, I was on fire... like 20 3 Hearts comments.

What? It's only timed exclusive to the PS3...
At least read the "File Under" section.

The poster can put anything in the filed under section. It could say "Ham Sandwich", but that wouldn't make Haze good with extra mustard. PC and development for both PC and 360 was canceled making it a PS3 exclusive. Until they say development is back on for those versions, they're less likely to show up than Duke Nukem Forever.

Hopefully it distances itself from UT3. I want to play both online, but I know damn well where my priorities are.

Just more time to increase the install base of the PS3. Great move. If it was released this holiday it would of been a bust for the PS3

So release on time = win, and delayed = win... huh?

Firmware 2.01 update probably broke the final production version of Haze and they need another month to fix it.

I wonder if this means the 360 version will be delayed as well, cause it was suppose to come out in early 2008, which would of been like 2 months after the ps3 version.
So will they release both at the same time or just delay the 360 version to 2 months from whenever the ps3 one comes out/

well as of now, Free Radical has been insisting that this game will remain a ps3 exclusive. But I don't buy that crap.

I may be wrong, and often I am however, this really seems more like a, "there is just to many games coming out right now" move than an actual technical delay. Let's not forget that these people are in business to make a profit.

It doesn't look like much of a loss for PS3 owners, this game looks like a average shooter nothing special...

Bad news for PS3 fans I better bring my flame shield and Anti-troll armor.
To be honest this isn't that bad,I was interested in Haze beause it looked like a console version of Crysis(Not in graphics) but since the Xb360 version isn't confirmed and the PC version is far away the only version left was the PS3 version and since I still don't have one the game can burn in hell for all that I care.
Now that Rainbow Six Vegas 2....Oh wait I don't like rainbow six series.

It could be that they're still fixing up this game (which I highly doubt), as other people have already stated, the developers probably delayed the game so that they can release it when more people have ps3s.

They probably realized that running away from Master Chief still wouldn't save them from Gordon Freeman, the Modern Army and the rest of the little fish struggling to get attention.
Why compete on the PS3 for disappointing sales at best? They might as well release all three versions in the spring and hope they catch some Lost Planet style success.

Why buy a PS3? Seriously, I am not trying to troll, beat Sony supporters while they are down, heck in a perfect work I would love to see Sony push the envelope and light a fire up Microsoft and Nintendo's asses. Why buy a PS3 over a 360? Stubbornness? You hate Microsoft? I hope it isn't because you think the PS3 is more powerful than the 360 because that would make you a grade A moron. Seriously I want to know why.

MGS4 / FFXIII
The fact that PS2 > Xbox + GCN
Multimedia function
Most expensive console with most functionality. Some people gotta have that

Your 11 year old buddy thinks it is better
Just the opinion that it is better, regardless of how you came to it. Some people don't even know that GTA:IV is coming to 360. ;)
You don't like shooters, in which case the games are more even
It looks cooler than a 360
Remember, the majority of consumers are not as into this crap as we are, so you can forget the "it has better games" argument when thinking about the mass population. I have a buddy that plays more 360 than I do (he's awesome at Halo 3 and Guitar Hero. And I mean sick awesome at them.) And he had never even heard of Mass Effect or Orange Box (or Half Life 2 for that matter).
