Rainbow Six Vegas 2 announced, first screen

Clancy fans rejoice! Ubisoft has announced that a sequel to Rainbow Six Vegas, cleverly titled Rainbow Six Vegas 2, is headed for the Xbox 360. Along with the news comes the first screenshot, which you can see above. As you may have guessed, the game will again take place in Las Vegas. That town just can't get a break, can it? According to the press release, the sequel will "break new ground in both co-op and adversarial modes, while providing unprecedented interaction between the solo and multiplayer modes." What exactly this "interaction" is, we don't know. Maybe you can take your online avatar into campaign missions. Perhaps the leveling system works both in campaign and in adversarial multiplayer. Whatever Ubisoft does, we're just hoping they don't try to fix what ain't broken.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is scheduled to arrive in March of 2008.

Well, after how the first one ended it's nice to see a sequel.

I liked the last rainbow six, but hopefully we will see less "pop up enemys"

hope there's a halo style of match making :)

and hope they improve loading times.

It's gotta be some serious upgrades over the first all around or I'm not even bothering with this.

I'm so shocked to see Ubisoft make a sequel to a Tom Clancy game. This really came out of no where.

Well if u finish the first game it is rather obvious there would be a second lol.....

March release? Smells like glorified expansion pack to me. Ubisoft, it's ok to call it an expansion - better that than getting hopes up for a miracle in 4 months.

Even though I love shooters I'll have to pass on this, Halo 3 and COD4 will keep me entertained for a looong time

I just don't see any other online shooters being better than Halo 3 and COD 4 for a while. Surprise me Ubi!

Hmmm... well I hope the make the Co-op missions a little more streamline... I didn't like that fact that the story was cut out of the game when on co-op. Good times anyway.

it seems like the previous rainbow sixes and their sequels were just little more than expansions too. but i still loved them. and Vegas was fantastic, easily one of my favorite experiences on my 360. i'm down to head back to Sin City. can't wait!

the first was awesome, this should be better. keep online the same and add features, there's nothing i didn't like about this game

But why vegas again... That alone seems like it at least started as an expansion...

Or better yet, Rainbow 6: Springfield. Which Springfield? Complete the game to find out the exciting twist.

i hope they add some CoD4 flavor to it! kinda like the perks and challenges that way it gives you something to improve your character instead of just syaing you get the gun and everything else w. it! you should earn it. I also hope the custom camo is better b/c the camo layout of the first one SUCKS!!!!

Give us the old game back where we plot our course and micromanage. You turned rainbow six into freaking counter strike, gah.

come on toronto you not thinking hard enough, R6: Winnipeg! and bring chavez back!

By no means should they even remotely change the way rainbow 6 does match-making. Screw Halo's party system, Rainbow 6's online play is something I wish wash replicated in all games. Many of my friends have previously noted how we wished more games would work as well as r6 has done with their interface.

Let me add that I would consider not buying the game should they (for some unlikely reason) change the matchmaking system.

you sure its not much of anything new I mean r6v came out last march so maybe there is significantly newer things to it maybe many improved things

I've got to admit my excitement dropped a little after reading it would be in Vegas. Again. The actual levels better be different than in R6:V.

And they need 4 player (1 squad) story mode online co-op. Or at least full online co-op for the story mode.

Maybe I'm becoming a gaming snob, but after Gears , Crackdown and Halo I want most games to have this option as standard.

4 player co-op would be great. i would even settle for being able to take 1 friend online with you or at least 2 people per tv with system link. althogh 4 player split and system link would be the best.

Yes, I have been waiting for this, but it seems to me that either.

a) It will be delayed like Conviction.
b) Is the reason Conviction is delayed.

Either way I want to get it ASAP

Also as some have stated. Vegas needs no major changes, maybe a few graphic touches, but the basic SP and MP is fine.

It needs to be in Vegas, atleast partially as it is a sequel to the first, rather than a new Rainbow Six game.

Please, please, please, leave the multiplayer ALONE! No matchmaking. That is the whole reason I don't play Halo 3 online. It's nice being able to invite who you want, being able to pick the game type you want, and the map you want. Let the hosts set up what game they want and go play. I still play rainbow for that reason. That is Halo's and COD 4's only downfall. At least I can deal with COD's.

loved the first one can't wait for the 2nd, finally an end to the childish world of unrealistic shoot em ups like halo n cod4

The first Vegas was the sickest game ver made, with amazing multiplayer action, and a story line that was unprecedented! This is the release of 2008 and I gaurentee it does not disappoint. Fighting your way throgh the Las Vegas streets and hotels will never get old....kudos for the duplication of city...I will be there with bells on my friends!
