Actually, you *can't* play footy with a pal across the pond. Nintendo only lets you play within your region "to reduce lag", remember? But it doesn't matter, because strikers was boring anyways.

Wii is a sleeper hit?

Yeah, Star Wars is a cult classic too.

Sleeper hit, maybe not. Dark horse is a much better term. Still, the idea stands. When the Wii was under development (and even for the few months following release), everyone--including developers--said that the Wii would amount to nothing because it just didn't pack the horsepower its competitors boasted. The console still fights against this stigma with most developers. Hardly anyone took the time to make a good game and the first year was left barren. This second year is starting to look up as 3rd parties are realizing the capabilities they have with the console. Here's hoping for a better second year for 3rd party titles!

I would like the ability to play multiplayer VC games over the Wi-Fi Connection with people in my friends list. Call me crazy, but that'd be sweet! And yes, I believe voice-chat should be a no-brainer. Also, software that uses some DS connectivity would be really cool, too. I'd love to see a Drawn To Life sequel for the Wii that used th DS as the controller.

I'd like to see:
1: An add on hard drive: I'm about out of space for my VC games!
2: A redesigned channel menu: I'd prefer to select VC games by system or at least have them alphabetized
3: More DS connectivity: Adding game boy/game boy color games the the VC with the option to transfer to an official DS flash memory card is a dream of mine. WiiWare Pac Man vs. would probably be cool too.
4: WiiWare!: I'm excited about online multiplayer Dr. Mario but I'd love to see other things like Pac Man Championship Edition too.
5: Don't screw up Mario Kart Wii: I didn't care for DoubleDash but Mario Kart DS is AMAZING. I hope that MK Wii will be fun.
6: More fun casual games: Wii Music could be fun (conducting with a Wii Remote baton). More cheap and fun casuals in the style of Wii play (even via WiiWare) would be nice.
7: Animal Crossing Wii: This one is likely in the works but if it lives up to the precedent set by the original Animal Crossing then it could obsess many a gamer.
8: Even more 3rd party support: There have been a few standout titles but more would be better.

Why would a headset be an attachment to the WiiMote when the Wii has the most popular wireless headset device receiver in the world, BlueTooth.

For the same reason the Guitar Hero controller connects to a Wiimote - to keep costs down. But wireless is good, too, so long as we can use any BT headset instead of being limited to proprietary ones.

I'd love to see a HDD, perhaps some new colour wiimotes.

A clasic controller that didnt need to be connected to the wm would be good.

the long awaited DVD playback, apparently only new ones will include it, as it cannot be added by the update (this blows, as it will make preowned wii's worth next to nothing, so trading it in will be a waste)

I cant hep but laugh at the irony; the wii is the only console that makes a profit on hardware, there is unbelievable demand for christmas; and they dont have enough!

"2: A redesigned channel menu: I'd prefer to select VC games by system or at least have them alphabetized"

You do know that you can click and drag the channels to any position that you want to... so that you could alphabetize them on your own for now, atleast until they most likely add this feature later...
