The commercials for the game are pretty good though.

This isn't the greatest game of all time, but it's still fun. I enjoy playing it, especially with my girlfriend

I will not be partaking and I think Sega's going to have a hard time reaching that 16 quadrillion sales mark it set.

Check this if you want to see a better review of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games.

Wow. That was fucking retarded. I'd rather watch GT's review again than that 'better' review.

The worst part is that I want to buy it simply because it has sonic and mario in it.

I know. And sonic and mario in the same game still blows my mind. It just looks so weird to see them together.

'Eh, after the low scores for games like Wii Sports, I take most of these reviews with a good portion of salt.

low scores? Most of them gave Wii sports 70s. That's pretty reasonable actually.

That said, after having played this game finally today, I can confidently say:
Don't waste your time on it. It sucks.
Table Tennis is the only worth while game on it that I played. Fencing is the biggest let down of them all. An epic letdown, if there ever was one.
Way too complicated for what it sets out to do and the events are all painfully short, too. You hardly have a chance to get into them because they're over so damn fast.
And maybe I just didn't look around hard enough, but I didn't see that foot racing/Mario Kart hybrid mode anywhere.

Either way, it sucked.

It's like MEH!?! I'll just skip it and wait for SSBB.

lol i guese being a game that has both sonic and mario in it makes it comparable to SSBB.

Too bad they made this game centered around the olympics.

So "no one will blame you" if you don't know who Blaze or Vector are... But Waluigi and Daisy? HOUSEHOLD NAMES.

Yeah. No.

Blaze and Vector have appeared in much fewer games than Daisy and Waluigi, and, generally speaking, much WORSE games.

Probably the only people who would really recognize them would be those creepy die-hard Sonic fans.

Well, some people might recognize Blaze from the only GOOD Sonic games left: the OK Sonic Rush series. Vector though? Um...FIND THE COMPUTER ROOM!

Within the limits laid down by the Olympic Committee (essentially, that the game had to have as broad an appeal as humanly possible, with special interest in attracting kids) this game does a good job

That being said, not worth more exertion than a rent, in general

I suceeded in convincing a co-worker to get a Wii for the family this Christmas, but he seems set on picking this up... I felt like it would be a lost cause explaining why this game is going to suck. It's people like this that will get Sega their 4 mil sales.

I don't think it's that bad. I rented it last weekend for my daughter and she had a friend of hers over playing it all day Saturday. Sunday afternoon she said her arms were sore from the game, so if they played it that much, there has to be something to it. And it's good exercise, especially the swimming and running events.

I rented it yesterday and played it all night. So far, as multiplayer, I see nothing wrong with the game and it is as I expected. I will likely be buying this or at least putting it on a christmas list. The game gives a great workout that is much better than Wii Sports.

It is suitable for all ages really and you have so much fun whether your taking part or just watching someone else play lol.
