Well you could use the drums with dtxmania which is a drummania emulator for the pc. The big problem is you would still be short one pad.

well, if you could get it to work with mame, you'd have a pretty potent weapon in the Hyper Olympics 100m dash.

This could be a great use for music production. Playing with actual drum sticks would be a nice alternative to tapping out your beats MPC-style.

Yeah, I was going to say this would be a cool way to create loops and other such things through the computer.

This is the instructions I found to hook up my 360 version: http://www.sledge-hammer.net/blog/tags/rock-band/
I'm sure it's similar for hooking up ps2/ps3 version to Mac.

I hope you guys realize there are much cheaper/better USB drumkits out there... If you have the drums fro Rock Band then whatever, but if you are setting out to make beats and pick up one of these drum kits for it you are an idiot.

cheaper / better drum kits aside from rock band?
I would really like to know where you came up w/ that considering the rock band full set is $169.99 so we'll round off with tax to $180. Assuming your guitar is like guitar hero retailed at $50 and you mic is like $25 and the game is $50. that puts the drums estimated at $50. fair enough? on research yeah you could finger tap w/ this
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Alesis-Control-Pad-USB-MIDI-Percussion-Pad-Controller-449753-i1169230.gc
retailed at $199.99
or for the full set experince
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Yamaha-DTXPRESS-IV-Pad-Set-444806-i1171829.gc
retailed at $429.99
most kits i found range from $700-$4,000 with an avarage of $1,000 so where are you finding these 'better deals'. because from my stand point it's $50 or $429.99.

You can't get the drum kit for Rock Band separately yet, and Guitar Center has HORRIBLE prices.

And I'm not talking about professional equipment. But Rock Band is just a fragile toy.

looks like the rock band drums has 5 inputs really...4 drum, 1 bass. just like the guitar...5 buttons. frets on fire is already set up for this...just there arent anny sonngs made for it. goto the song editor and remake or import the song you want to play, and create the drum beat. save it, then play it, and possibly share...simple really
