PS3 Assassin's Creed patch coming soon
It's hard out there for an medieval assassin. Yeah, you always have the man breathing down your neck, tellin' you that you're not allowed to run around murdering people - but there're little hassles that come with the job that nobody tells you about. For instance, a little thing called assassin's chafe; the result of a long, warm day of parkour in a time before Gold Bond. That wrist blade brings enough problems of it's own - how can you trust that spring loaded, razor sharp steel when giving a friendly handshake, or using a urinal?
Well, being a virtual hitman is going to get a lot easier very soon -- a patch was recently announced for the PS3 version of Assassin's Creed which will improve the stability of the game, and fix a few freezing issues which plague the title. We're sure Altair would also appreciate it if they would fix that duplicity bug and the far more disturbing "humping guard" glitch. Nothing can ruin your day quite like a sex-crazed sentinel.

"far more disturbing "humping guard" glitch."
Dear god.
Phi Nguyen @ Nov 25th 2007 1:37PM
I dunno, I got a little chub from watching that. :p
Anonim @ Nov 25th 2007 1:56PM
LOL.
BTW will this patch fix nasty tearing problems in PS3 version?

Disturbing indeed that video was.
I'm gonna... go wash my eyes with soap now.

When will people realize that the Delaystation is a failure? Read the next news below for more problems. (Orange box)
Seems like every game has issues.. if you can find one.
Jeff @ Nov 25th 2007 1:27PM
When will people realize that, just because they like their console more, it is NOT okay for developers to screw over consumers and then blame it on the console. Release things right or not at all-- releasing trashy ports is a money-grab.
Jason @ Nov 25th 2007 1:30PM
Funny, but there is also a patch in the works for the 360 version of AC!!
Now there IS a failure if ever I saw one.. Feature crippled and unreliable..
ssuk @ Nov 25th 2007 4:56PM
Oh okay Jason, you just keep ignoring the flaws the PS3 has, everything will be alright.
Moron.
Matt Grossman @ Nov 25th 2007 1:26PM
I might be the only person who can't play the 360 version! My 360 crapped out on me (seems like it's a faulty GPU) just as I was starting to enjoy it (and enjoy Assassin's Creed!) Luckily it's still under warranty. Don't think the game was the culprit, just extremely bad timing at the start of my 4 day holiday weekend.
Vlad @ Nov 25th 2007 1:33PM
This game was pure over-hyped poop, bought by a bunch of dorks who fell for the over-rated female producer. Serves them all right. I returned it for COD4, now I'm at level 45!
sheppy2.0 @ Nov 25th 2007 1:46PM
ZOMG, you're E-Penis is soooo huge now. I mean, you just bashed a popular game and gave us an incite to your awesome gaming skills. I'm envious.... I've tried and tried and tried to be a chest beating retard like yourself. Maybe if I had an extra chromosome we could be mistaken for twins...
Chimp @ Nov 25th 2007 1:49PM
It wasn't that bad, it wasn't that good. But like Vlad I completed it in a weekend and returned it (for R&C). My advice to anyone intending on buying this game: RENT it (it has no replay value)

Sheppy: A PS3 fanboy in a "I know everything" disguise.
sheppy2.0 @ Nov 25th 2007 2:09PM
Fernando, don't you have a Pikachu "love pillow" to hump or something? Or are you going back to your old trick of following me around?
Vlad @ Nov 25th 2007 2:24PM
He's just angry because PS3 outsold Wii for a second straight week in Japan :D
Fernando, when will you realise it's just silly defending any major corporation, unless you work for them. I mean, you don't go around saying Shell oil is better than Exxon or BP do you?
Noshino @ Nov 25th 2007 2:26PM
sheppy, thing is, Fernando hasn't changed a bit even after the hammer fell on him...
He still the same blindfolded fanboy, and despite being show FACTUAL evidence, he only lives to bash Sony and glorify Nintendo...whoever shows him the truth becomes a blasphemer..oh, I mean, Sony fanboy..
PS: Pikachu? nah dude, he probably has a Mario one...
Fernando Rocker @ Nov 25th 2007 2:29PM
Angry? for two weeks, when the Wii as been outelling the PS3 for 50 weeks?
And the PS3 only outsell the Wii last week for 3,000 units.
How about the Wii outelling the PS3 by 350,000 in Octuber here in USA?

By the way... Shell is better than Exxon.
=)
Mr Khan @ Nov 25th 2007 2:33PM
Not to derail the conversation, but anyone remember Shrimp Rapist aka Shadow Sheppy?
That was a hilarious incident
Night Elve @ Nov 25th 2007 2:39PM
Fernando do you realize that you are the only one that cares about how many units is selling Nintendo or Sony right?
You spend more time here bitching, crying and screaming than the time you should spend playing your Nintendo Wii or your 360.
I still don't get all your hatred towards SONY I don't think SONY raped you when you were an annoying and snotty child.
ark_v2 @ Nov 25th 2007 4:04PM
"were"?
Joe @ Nov 25th 2007 5:49PM
@ night elf
Sony did rape him, but that's none of our business. i know i'm known for calling people stupid and using much profanity, but making fun of a rape victims is where i draw the line.
and so should you.
xGeneral DEATHx @ Nov 26th 2007 11:44AM
I didn't care for this game too much, but calling it "crap" is just a "little" overboard. It has its moments, but it's just not for everybody. Also: props to Shep for the "E-Penis" comment. Wonder when they'll start Viagra microtransactions to skip levels in CoD4? "Inject your E-Penis with rocket fuel and make imaginary women faint. This is living...Welcome to the social."
pwnetheus @ Nov 25th 2007 1:44PM
Yea, my game just freezes on me a lot. I can still move the camera but everything else freezes. When I played this on the 360 it had some serious framerate issues. Really choppy. I think this game could have used a couple more months of refinement. That and they could have added a little more variety in what you do.
john @ Nov 25th 2007 5:20PM
tap the "A" button when the game is starting up. It will free up the cache and your framerate problems should be fixed
Leonidas @ Nov 25th 2007 1:59PM
Anyone else have no problems with AC and enjoy it greatly?
Silent Xenocide @ Nov 25th 2007 2:43PM
guess not leonidas
Vegnagun (Brushed With Fame) @ Nov 25th 2007 2:44PM
/agree
Raikage (NDF - PK THUNDER RING) @ Nov 25th 2007 3:13PM
I really, really like it, but I see where people say it's repetitive.
Also, the combat could be a little better, and those huts (with the yellow flaps that you hide in) on every other roof are kinda cheesy...
pwnetheus @ Nov 25th 2007 5:49PM
I'm really enjoying it but like it's understandable when people say it's a repetitive game. As much as I like it I know it could have been soooooo much better.
JodyAnthony (Good Eats Defense Force) @ Nov 25th 2007 2:06PM
ive had about six or seven freezes now in the 20 hours ive put into the game. i hope this patch fixes everything, cause i love the game
Noshino @ Nov 25th 2007 2:30PM
Amazing game, thumbs up to the developers, Im pretty sure that it isn't their fault as they were probably pushed to met the deadline...
Vegnagun (Brushed With Fame) @ Nov 25th 2007 2:34PM
I don't know some people don't like this game I guess. I loved it, even the parallel story was fantastic near the end. Didn't like it in the beginning though.
chris lawrance @ Nov 25th 2007 2:52PM
Alright here's the beef I have with this. Let me also preface this with saying that I am a happy PS3 and Wii owner who DOES NOT own this game.
It seems that these types of problems and patches seem to have popped up in the past year or two with some regularity. I'm all for improving system performance but I'm starting to agree with others that the time and money put into producing these types of glitches and fixing them PRIOR to the games release is being sacrificed in order to make the deadline. I don't particularly enjoy having to put my experience on hold in the middle of a game (or losing an hour of unsaved time for that matter) I commend Ubisoft with their response time on this but I would be even more pleased if this type of thing never happened at all! My 2cents
Negativecool @ Nov 25th 2007 3:32PM
Remember the good ol' days...Ya know, the days before you could send a patch over the interwebs?
No?
I do. I remember when once you sent out a game, that was it. There were far less broken games made in this "quality" era.
Nowadays you can put a piece of shit on store shelves, patch it with tinfoil and a coat of paint later, and call it a game...when infact it is still a dirty turd. Then the devs look like they really give a damn about the consumer, who bought their product, because they fixed their own piece of shit.
Anyway...gimmie my patch now, end rant/
Sangohan2 @ Nov 25th 2007 3:57PM
yeah, but on these days, developpers weren't spending 4 whole years on a game !
Martin @ Nov 25th 2007 4:53PM
Is it possible to put the point of the post in bold, in the future? I'm tired of reading through "witty" commentary to be able to understand the issue at hand. This is not a smack against McElroy or anything, it'd just be nice to not have to sift between the two.
Joe @ Nov 25th 2007 5:15PM
lolz, i've been feeling that way too. i guess you can't be a journalist, if you don't like to hear yourself talk, or like to read your own material.
"That wrist blade brings enough problems of it's own - how can you trust that spring loaded, razor sharp steel when giving a friendly handshake, or using a urinal?"
lolz, come on, martin. aren't statements like that worth your time, as well?
Alen @ Nov 25th 2007 5:34PM
this game is insane! i love it. check out the custom maps!

Damn you EA!! Why are no other developers having problems with the PS3 but you!!!
oh wait...
LaughingTarget @ Nov 25th 2007 6:05PM
I got the PS3 version because of the whole being quieter than the 360. I've run into 5 different freezes in 4 hours, not acceptable. My favorite, being 4 of them, is me running around eternally in the blue level loading screen.
It got me thinking, wouldn't it suck if we had actual VR, it uploaded your head into the loading screen, then crashed? Would your consciousness be stuck in a blue-haze, infinitely large world for all eternity?
Joe @ Nov 25th 2007 6:16PM
you'll know when they used lethal injection when the blue turns to red, and the haze turns to fire, and you're cool assassin outfit burns off your melting body in the world of eternal damnation. fyi...
Joe @ Nov 25th 2007 6:21PM
guys, come back to the orange box topic, we're tryin to reach 200 posts.
Superstar90 @ Nov 25th 2007 10:15PM
Eventually at E3's and stuff they are going to announce dates for the patches. "Patch for _____ coming this fall! Worldwide same-day release!"
mccomber @ Nov 26th 2007 1:12AM
Huh... so, is the 360 version getting a patch as well? Because I've had it freeze a few times, and generally had many of the same bugs that are apparently plaguing the ps3 version.
zero @ Nov 26th 2007 1:59PM
How about a patch that ads an option to use a control scheme that actually works?
