Unless they've disabled it right here, you'll be able to flip through others' friends lists to see how they stack up to yours, maybe even add a few prized names to your own. It's a cool feature, but it has us a bit worried about list capacity. With the new opportunities to make friends, could we have more than 100? Please?
Browse others' friends lists with 360 fall update
The size and quality of your Xbox 360 friends list is sort of like the thickness and number of pockets in your Trapper Keeper were in middle school: It's an undeniable barometer of coolness among a very specific subset of people. After Dec. 4's fall update, you'll finally be able to judge your friends' binders e-popularity with the new "Friends of Friends" feature.

Why don't they add something useful like a way for me to notate custom info on each friend. ie. what game I met them in, personal info I've gleaned from them by talking, etc.. A note pad page on each friend would do wonders in allowing me to keep track of them all. At this point.. if I don't interact with them in a few months I just delete them.

My top 3 series are:
1. Seinfeld
2. Friends
3. Scrubs
Same with Will & Grace.
Sienfeld is aging well, though.
Now on the topic at hand...perhaps I don't understand it that well, but is this a glorified way of increasing your e-penis? Something akin to Facebook bragging rights?
"Could I be anymore jealous?"
And I agree.. the 100 limit is absolutely ridiculous for those of us that join online communities.. I literally have to delete chunks of friends every time I get a new game just to make room for different people.. which makes going back to play the old ones with the same friends practically impossible.

I don't see anything wrong with it, as long as you can control whether the feature is enabled or how it's enabled, which Microsoft has covered.
So if you wants people to see your friends list, they will, if you don't, they won't.
Just from a perspective of adding friends of friends, it does make it rather convenient.
I'm all for more social features. Bring em on Microsoft! I was rather bummed that Call of Duty didn't have an online site to check your challenges among friends. Now that would have been cool.

I could just be crazy.

It'd also be nice to be able to set individual alerts.

god, there are so many things the dashboard still needs, and it's real annoying that i can barely see my backgrounds because of ads or just unnecessarily large menus

That is a feature I have wanted since the 360 launch.

My biggest request would be for all online multiplayer games to use Halo 3 matchmaking and run as lag free as Halo 3 does. H3 isn't even that great of a game, yet has ruined superior games that don't run so smooth for me.

Because that's what's going to happen if Microsoft truly does want Xbox Live to become a social network clone.
