Tri-Crescendo, developers of Eternal Sonata for the Xbox 360 and PS3, are currently working on a new RPG for the Nintendo Wii. Entitled Fragile, the RPG follows the story of Set, a young boy who must explore various cities in a post-apocalyptic world.
Details at this time are scarce because, well, we can't read Japanese. Those with a bit more skill in the language department might want to check out the game's official website, which also features screenshots and a teaser trailer for the game.
Those that are a bit lazier can check out the trailer after the break.
Thats the kind of games that Wii needs. Thats an instant buy to me, no matter if it turns a bad game... I want to support that kind of games. No more minigames.
Absolutely agree. Nintendo has been letting me down for a long while now, and it's attempt to kill of deep games in favor of shallow cell phone style games with a waggle bothers me.
"Fragile: Farewell Ruins of the Moon is set in a post-apocalyptic near future world that has lost its light and is covered in a dense fog. Almost all the world's population has vanished, and the cities have been left abandoned. The game places the player in the shoes of Seto, a young boy.
Seto wanders the world, searching for survivors and the answers behind the disappearance of everyone else. Seto also searches for a mysterious girl named "Heroine"; what her role is in the game is unknown. However in his quest he must deal with ghosts and demons that lurk within the ruins of the abandoned cities.
Damn... I'm trying to not be a troll anymore... after all the comments of Joe and name123, I realized that be in the same category as those two is bad.
So, yes... I'm I troll... but anyone who read the comments on The Orange Box post, will know what a truly troll is.
Oh Fernando, what would Joystiq be without your outlandish and nonsensical fanboy trolling? I say as long as you arent hurting anyone, and you are continuing to make yourself look foolish with drivel and frivolous Sony bashing, then continue on your chosen path. I, for one, would be sad if you were to cease giving us ammunition.
I think that after his ban, Fernando has made far more witty comments than outright trollish ones. It's kinda hit and miss. I don't know why everybody swarms to him like he is the biggest troll on Joystiq, when there is much, much worse. Yes, he bashes Sony, but so do a lot of other people, that aren't as harassed as Fernando. At least he (usually) makes valid points and avoids profanity, sometimes his way of bringing it is a little crude and mean, but I definitely don't see what the hype is about. Refocus on the bigger trolls like Joe guys, he is leaps and bounds ahead of Fernando when it comes to trolling.
I can't believe I just wrote a full paragraph about some online dude I don't even know, graahhh must get a life...
I completely agree, he has been better since coming back after the ban. There are times when its just blatant bashing, but its less than before. Anyway, I wasnt trolling Fernando here, I was just pointing out some irony.
Okay... I really gotta comment here. I'm excited about this game but I'll support it IF it's good, not just because it's a non-minigame effort. I mean, if a game is good, you should support it. You shouldn't support it just because it's doing something different.
My goodness you people are petty. I've been around here long enough, which is a long time, to know who Fernando is (Even if no one knows who I am) and yeah of course he was pretty obnoxious back a while ago, but I haven't seen much anything out of him recently that would be anything over a persons true opinion of something. Sure he says some mean things about sony, but guess what, tons of people do, tons of people say bad things about microsoft or Nintendo, but that doesn't make them a troll. Every place he posts I see the same thing that you people say, like "what would Joystiq be without your outlandish and nonsensical fanboy trolling?" and its said every time. Get over yourselves.
I know its a convienent plot device to make the character young that way you can explane the game universe to them and it seems to fit naturally but I get tired of NPCs talking to me or treating me like I'm a child throughout the whole game.
I bet even children would like to be treated like a man during gameplay.
Personally, I also hate the way all JRPGs baby you and explain the weird intricacies of that particular world through useless dialog in the intro town. They need to take a lesson from good fiction writers. Explain the world through events and meaningful dialog. Let the player discover the world as they play, don't hand them the whole damn thing in 20 boring minutes at the beginning.
It has something to do with Japanese kids wanting to find an escape, and the main guy being a young kid probably helps them to immerse into the game world and feel like they are saving the world.
Yeah I just pulled that out of my ass based on something I read 8 years ago, sue me.
They seem to be putting a decent amount of effort into the music, artwork and voice acting (japanese, anyway), but why are the graphics on Wii still so bad?
Yes, it's underpowered, but if it really is two Gamecube stuck together, why don't games show it? Even GC launch games looked good, yet some Wii games are just embarising.
Anyway, this looks interesting- I'll be keeping an eye on it. But does Nintendo not give devs any tools? Just say "Hey, this is really similar to Gamecube architecture, so just go off of that and have a fun!" ? Why must every Wii game look like a second-gen PS2 title? We have seen that it can do MUCH better.
Graphics aren't everything, I know, but it seems like everyone's being lazy just because it's the least powerful system so they think they can get away with not trying.
