Man, Double Dribble was AWESOME. Also, Vegas Stakes was one of my favorite gambling games ever.

I still own both originals, but because it's such a PITA to hook up the NES/SNES, I will probably wind up buying both just to have back the memories.

I used to play Vegas Stakes religiously. I will be adding that one to my list.

= / With the release of the zapper, I was hoping we might finally see duck hunt, wild gunman and hogans alley

I doubt we'll ever see Duck Hunt or Hogan's Alley on the Virtual Console; the NES Zapper used a photodiode to detect lit pixels on the screen. That's why you might notice that NES Zapper games blacked out for a split second when you pulled the light gun's trigger, with a bright white rectangle around the shootable sprites on screen. It's also why it was very easy to cheat at those games by shooting towards a lamp or other bright light. The Wii Zapper, on the other hand, is only a shell that holds your Wii Remote.

In short, Nintendo would have to add a targeting reticule to the games' interfaces in order for them to function using the Wii remote. I'm betting on a WiiWare release of an upgraded version of Duck Hunt, with a targetting reticule and improved graphics.

I wasted plenty of time with Double Dribble, I can still see the slam dunk! I just might pick it up.

Good point about the zapper games, hopefully they'll just add a target or something and get them out there
