Updates are free, even to silver members. If multiplayer isnt worth a paltry $50 a year and you need to justify it with the free update, then quit renewing that subscription.

Go back to your bridge, troll.

Ugh, no conference chat? Are you serious? Them more details I hear slip out, the less I want a 360 and it's $50 "service".

The PSTriple has like eight-way video chat. Serioulsy.

Whoa there, let's take it easy... they've given us plenty of good stuff in the past, let's have confidence for this update too. Nothing they've done has made the experience worse, so why complain?

I love all of these posters who complain about the lack of features and fail to read the note. Classic IDS, illiterate dumbass syndrome.

Whos the hot guy in your avatar?

And yeah I read the note but still we've only heard rumors (faint ones at that) of anything really important coming with this update.

So in my mind I'm a lil skeptical as to how radical or important the update as a whole will be. And if thats the beginning of it then I think I have valid concerns. Live is a great service and I think the 360 is the best console of this generation (Wii60 FTW however!) but you've GOT to keep adding things that make your system stand out.

Besides you can't let sony outdo you in this department.

Even if Microsoft adds IPTV support, it won't matter a hill of beans if your cable/internet/phone provider doesn't provide the service to support it.

When it comes down to it...Microsoft has given us everything we want... Except this... (some of which will be fixed by this upcoming update)

- ability to remove XBLA demos from games list* added with Fall 07 update
- more than 2 person chat
- xvid support** possibly added with Fall 07 update.

What more is there to want? That other consoles have that the XBOX360 doesnt?

Jeez guys, the H.264 and MPEG4 video support that was released in the Spring was buried in the press release. Outside of a certain group of people, I doubt that DiVX support is really a headliner for the XBox team. You may not hear about it until the day of release, if it is coming.

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/community/news/2007/0408-im.htm
# Added H.264 video support: Up to 10 Mbps peak, Baseline, Main, and High profiles with 2 channel AAC LC.
# Added MPEG-4 Part 2 video support: Up to 5 Mbps peak, Simple Profile with 2 channel AAC LC.

OMFG. FINALLY. Arcade games removed from achievment list. No longer do I need to go onto my silver account just to try the weeks arcade game. Lame it took 2 years to have this happen. It should not of been there from the start.

Other then this, the update so far is not looking good. This is some stuff it really needs

- xvid/divx support
- 4 person multi private chat
- customizable blades and themes (probably not gonna happen cause idiots buy themes off marketplace)
- more then 6 download slots for queue (like seriously why only 6? Why not unlimited? ITs just a queue

I like that feature list. I didn't expect a lot, and with a little more coming, I'm excited to turn on my 360 on December 4th (after confirmation that it doesn't brick 360s, of course).

XBLA Demos being removed from played games lists is an awesome idea. I'm thrilled with that. But I just hope they extend it to also allow me to remove full version games that I only tried for 5 minutes and never got any gamer points... because they really annoy me :(

Divx/xvid support would be nice. Also nice would be more container support than just WMV and MP4. What most people are probably looking for when asking for Divx is AVI support. What'd be great (but wishful thinking) is MKV with subtitle and audio stream selection.

Why is everybody so gung ho about deleting demos off of the gamercard? I got my 360 about a month ago, so I may be completely oblivious as to why this update has been so anticipated.

Good news. Maybe great depending on how you feel about the demo's appearing in gamerscore thing.

I'm hoping for divx/xvid support. I'd love to see matroska support but I doubt that will ever see the light of day (said that about divx though 6 months ago). An RSS feed application seems more likely than a browser.

I know this isn't it, but I'm still upset that the rumored clan system wasn't mentioned. I really want that thrown in there, and it seems big enough that it would have a mention before things like restructured menus, amiright?
