Kevin Federline: Rapper, family man, master gamer
You already know that Kevin Federline is a gifted singer-songwriter, dutiful father and something of a bon vivant. But did you know that his 15 minutes of fame actually started in 1988 with an issue of Nintendo Fun Club News? Apparently, in between sessions of dreaming about never having to work again, nine-year-old K-Fed took time out to put the hurt on Great Puma in Pro Wrestling on the NES.
Kevin didn't stop there though. He took the time to take a picture of his accomplishment and send it away to the magazine. Through some kind of internet miracle, the proprietors of PandaSmash.com have stumbled upon it and reminded us all that even the biggest hack can have incredible talent.

Noob.
Kye, NDF - Fearless Leader @ Nov 27th 2007 2:26PM
I somewhat agree with the above comment.
Obie @ Nov 27th 2007 2:20PM
Popozao! Good that he has time in his busy court schedule and baby making...for games.
voloftn @ Nov 27th 2007 2:21PM
Stop wasting precious Joystiq screenspace on this loser.
Fernando Rocker @ Nov 27th 2007 2:26PM
Yes, he is loser, and useless, and a mediocre artist... and I'm a little jealous (not because of fugly Britney) because now he is rich and can play all the videogames that he wants.
I don't know why the mediocre people have everything =(
LilCo187 @ Nov 27th 2007 2:32PM
As much as I hate Federline, I agree with voloftn. Why is this news, other than the fact that McElroy has some sort of hidden admiration/extreme personal hatred towards this man.
Oooo wow, he sent in something to Nintendo back in '88. What a lame ass. Is Popozao not enough for him to endure???
deaftly @ Nov 27th 2007 3:07PM
"I don't know why the mediocre people have everything =("
by that logic you should own the universe
Shagittarius @ Nov 27th 2007 3:17PM
Federline is a great artist. Its unfortunate his ex takes all of his spotlight from him. I think you people should be nice to teh fed especially since im a fellow gamer.
Aberu @ Nov 28th 2007 10:55PM
I dunno he does have one talent. How to scope out, and successfully entice a rich women to give you alimony.
loungemonkey @ Nov 27th 2007 2:23PM
Damn he is from Oregon? I feel so dirty now.
gonk @ Nov 27th 2007 2:28PM
i just drove thru salem a couple days ago on my way back from corvallis
go ducks!
Fernando Rocker @ Nov 27th 2007 2:31PM
How is Oregon? It's nice?
gonk @ Nov 27th 2007 2:37PM
hell yeah
Fernando Rocker @ Nov 27th 2007 2:40PM
I don't know a lot of USA cities... just the big cities like LA, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, etc...
Everytime I have the chance to make a little trip, I ask to people, and the only thing that they say is the stupid stereotypes if the states.
Wonderflex @ Nov 27th 2007 2:40PM
This explains so much now. I bet he grew up in the flats around State street. Back in '04 I watched a police shoot out with some crazy guy throwing guitar amps out the window.
@Gonk - the Civil War would be a different story if Dixon was still alive...unless you really meant, "Go Ducks."
And yes, Oregon is nice, rather nice indeed. It just depends on where you live. I used to live in Gilchrist, which is a town of 700 people. -15 with snow in the winter, 105 with dust in the summer. I often times imagine it's a lot like what Hell is like. After lving in Salem and Eugene I'd say that I like Eugene best. Oh, and we have an awesome coast.
NoHitHair @ Nov 27th 2007 2:51PM
I had the same thought. Poor Oregon.
gonk @ Nov 27th 2007 5:16PM
i do root for the ducks, i used to go to summer camp at their campus (really shitty dorms there)
but my grandma lives in corvallis and roots for the beavers, go figure
really a shame about Dixon :(
ever been to gold beach? my dad's from there
Wonderflex @ Nov 27th 2007 6:20PM
I'm not sure if I've been to Gold Beach. I know that one of my uncles has a mother who lives there. I've been to Brookings and the almost the entire stretch from Bandon to Astoria. I really like Cannon Beach, and despite it's beautiful coast, I dislike Yachats.
Cool to know your a Duck fan. Sad to know your Grandma might be happy real soon.
ThornedVenom @ Nov 27th 2007 11:30PM
@gonk
Please don't put "grandma" and "beaver" in the same sentence.
Kangstarr @ Nov 27th 2007 2:27PM
Psssh...his mom beat Puma and he just took the credit
Kn1ves @ Nov 27th 2007 2:30PM
I think the real winner here is
Erick hoe fucker
Jim Halpert DM @ Nov 27th 2007 2:33PM
He probably did with his penis. Prepared him to become the baby maker he is. F&@%ing loser. Those skills won't help him pay child support.
Crono (NDF - Knight of the Old School) @ Nov 27th 2007 5:35PM
Hows he going to pay child support when he has the custody.
ON the flip side, being a drunk drugged ho isn't going to help Brittany pay the child support. And neither is dancing around wearing the kind of outfits she wore when she was 18 and not a mom.
Jim Halpert DM @ Nov 27th 2007 5:40PM
He has other kids that he doesn't have custody of and likely more he doesn't even know about.
LilCo187 @ Nov 27th 2007 2:34PM
It aint Florida, thats fer sure!!
ssuk @ Nov 27th 2007 2:39PM
This is news! Only... 35 years late. Seriously, who gives a shit? Slow news day or not, this article was as worthless as this comment.
zuluhammer @ Nov 27th 2007 2:43PM
Stop it! Now you stop it! A winner is you Kevin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol good stuff
antilucid @ Nov 27th 2007 2:48PM
For starters, Kevin is not from Salem, Oregon. I was born and raised in Salem, Oregon. I lived there from 1975 to 2003. If you also read his wikipedia page, he was born and raised in Florida. This sort of trash should not be seen on joystiq as it is nowhere true.
Jim Halpert DM @ Nov 27th 2007 3:02PM
I'm not saying you're wrong, but you make a mistake if you depend upon wikipedia for all of you information. I could go there now, and put he was from pluto. I mean even if he was raised in Florida, people move.
stracenska @ Nov 27th 2007 3:15PM
@Antilucid
How does living in Salem from '75 to '03 prove that K-Fed didn't live there? That's a ridiculous statement. Even if it was a small town, it's impossible that you kept track of the names of every and any kid that passed through there for whatever amount of time.
antilucid @ Nov 27th 2007 4:17PM
Not being from Salem, you might not understand the mentality of the place. If anyone or anything famous (or infamous) was remotely related to the town, it would become well known within the town. I mean hell, whenever possible, the local newspaper would try to name drop crap like "One time resident " and then continue on to the rest of the article. Salem lives in Portland's shadow and tries to find recognition wherever it can find it, good or bad. So when I say he is not from here or ever lived here, I honestly believe this to be very true.
343 Guilty Fart @ Nov 27th 2007 2:56PM
Woah, that's the first issue of NFC magazine I ever got, I think I still have it somewhere in the attic. Must go check!
Grendel Pr1me @ Nov 27th 2007 3:32PM
You know. They have a thing now, called the garbage. You might want to look into it. ;)
If you aren't sure... it's the big bin with all of Federline's discs in it.
krizzlybear @ Nov 27th 2007 3:00PM
Maybe he can use Britney's alimony to buy a Nintendo Wii.
Mike @ Nov 27th 2007 3:12PM
"Kevin Federline yeah mm mm"
- Mike Walker
Shagittarius @ Nov 27th 2007 3:18PM
I meant 'he's a fellow gamer'.
bobartig @ Nov 27th 2007 3:25PM
Pro Wrestling was so easy. I beat puma repeatedly with several of the guys. Usually, each wrestler would have a fast activation move that, if timed right, you could basically use against the AI repeatedly until they were spent, then pin them for an easy win.
James @ Nov 27th 2007 3:27PM
That's worth more street cred then his rapping career.
Blazur @ Nov 27th 2007 3:52PM
I remember Pro Wrestling. Could pull off a mean back brain kick with Hayabusa.
Go fight!
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Nov 27th 2007 3:57PM
I don't care what anyone says, Federline is a fucking genius. And I'm not being sarcastic. Not only did he fuck Britney when she was kinda, sorta hot, but he's had tv guest spots, ads, albums, and money. And he's managed to do this with absolutely no talent what so ever. How can you not respect a guy like that?
WiNG @ Nov 27th 2007 4:12PM
It's the American Dream, isn't it?
ThornedVenom @ Nov 27th 2007 11:32PM
You can not respect him for the same reasons you can't respect Paris Hilton.
NATO_Duke @ Nov 27th 2007 4:15PM
There is now officially too much information on the internet.
Jack @ Nov 27th 2007 4:17PM
I know a lot of people hate him, myself included but I can't but help but think of a young bright eyed young boy excitingly getting his named published in NINTENDO magazine. Its kinda sad.
Although, who knows? Maybe he was a douche his whole life.
Durakone @ Nov 27th 2007 5:04PM
NO! HE CANNOT BE FROM MY CITY! SHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUP IM NOT LISTENING LALALALALALALALALALA!!!
Salem used to be beautiful to me! now I know the horrible skeletons in her closet!
James @ Nov 27th 2007 5:10PM
I don't understand, who is he?
gonk @ Nov 27th 2007 5:19PM
judging by the comments here, i'd say he had sex with britney spears and does a bit of shitty whiteboy rap on the side
James @ Nov 27th 2007 7:05PM
Ah right, I don't care for any of that so it's over my head. Britney Spears is still going? All I remember is that "hitting babies" song.
Clouded early teen years.
dark_inchworm @ Nov 27th 2007 5:54PM
I know I read about this weeks, maybe months, ago... hmm.
32_Footsteps @ Nov 27th 2007 6:50PM
Hey, Kevin! Congratulation!
