Nintendo came in last because THEY DIDN'T REPORT ANYTHING! Look at the PDF scorecard, there is literally no data for which to judge Nintendo on, which Greenpeace has unfairly called the bottom of the barrel. I don't even own a Wii (

Nintendo doesn't need a recycling program because everyone keeps the game systems and they last forever....even when throwing them wildly at your nice HDTV....tv broken, wiimote unphased. = )

This message brought to you by Nintendo's Official Seal of Quality.

This is shameful they shouldn't destroy the world to have greed. I am surprised Sony is doing so well. If toxic chemicals are going into your water supply you better damn care or else you wake up with cancer and have no clue that your anti-environmental stances lead to it.

Cancer didn't exist 100 years ago, but now everyone can get it from anything.

Wrong, moron. Cancer has existed for hundreds of year. We just didn't start calling it "cancer" or "tumors" until modern medicine caught up enough to diagnose it.

Let me add: are you implying that an environmentalist cannot be considered credible if he's working inside the industry to make more earth-friendly practices?

By that logic, the only REAL environmentalists are the ones who live in tents and put spikes in trees to prevent loggers from chopping them down; someone who believes that the industry of cutting trees is inherently evil, and should not exist at all.

You don't honestly believe that, do you?

wow Crono calm down, it's almost as if you're on their payroll ;)

Point is, Patrick is nothing more than Industries spin-cycle and could only be seen as an environmentalist by said Industries because he is far from it.

So, if the environmentalists hate Nintendo, then I HAVE to support Nintendo. I hate crazy environmentalists. I'm fine with people who don't want to waste things to a point of excess, but the people who are nuts about it are just... nuts.

So yeah, I shall support Nintendo now.

You know why there's no recycling program for old Nintendo products? Because we hold onto them all. I don't care if I haven't touched it in over a decade - you can have my Game Boy Brick when you pry it from my cold, dead hands.

Fanboys are bad enough, we don't need blogs to misrepresent findings to cause a commotion. Nintendo didn't supply Greenpace with the information that had been requested, so Greenpeace gave Nintendo a zero on everything....I thought you guys were better than this.

Greenpeace didn't request anything. They did a web search for "environmental policy" and "nintendo", got no relevant hits, and gave them a zero because the information wasn't on their website.

Did the author of this article actually bother to read the GreenPeace report? The reason why Nintendo scored zero was because GreenPeace either did not find any information.

If you follow the link in the GreenPeace PDF on Nintendo, it takes you to Nintendo of America's Corporate FAQ. It says they recycle paper, buy recycled paper towels, etc, but does not say anything about manufacturing or brominated flame retardants. Why? Nintendo of America DOES NOT manufacture anything. NOA is just a bunch of offices. Maybe Nintendo of Japan would have some information?

It is surprising that the journalist who wrote this did not bother to read the report or look into this AT ALL. People are reading this article and Nintendo has to take bad PR due to bad journalism. Not cool Joystiq.
