And this isn't even a joke. Prepare yourself for Meerkat Manor: The Video Game, as Discovery Communications and Activision join up to make games out of Discovery's nature television shows. No financial terms were disclosed, nor any system announcements or genre types, but the games are expected to flow in the fall of '08. We're hoping Meerkat Manor will be an FPS, but chances are it'll be a sim-style game.
Discovery's CEO said the company is trying to move away from being a "cable company" and into becoming a "content company." That seems to be the trend with other cable juggernauts as MTV is in the process of their $500 million spending extravaganza and Turner turns GameTap into an all-purpose gaming site from its smaller games-for-pay beginnings.

I gotta be honest, after the show allowing Flower's and Shakespeare's (assumed) death - I can't even watch it. I saw a few episodes, and then saw them play off these events to get viewers and was a bit freaked out. Some horrors are best left in the wild and not in our homes. So, no thanks to a game.

I predict it will be the best meerkat game since Timon and Pumba back in the 16-bit days. You heard it here first.

Platforms are going to be Wii, DS and PC. It's most likely going to feature Sims like gameplay with a plethora of mini-games to keep young minds occupied.
Prediction set. Now the only problem is, I won't care enough by time this comes out to care if I'm close or not.

This is clearly one of those crap titles which shall flood the Wii, DS, and PS2. I think it's because they know hardcore gamers are smarter than John Q. Walmart casual gamer.

I figure PC and DS are most likely. I remember seeing a "March of the Penguins" GBA game, which made me do a double-take.

That's the cool bit of news right there. Make a Mythbusters game!

Damn you! I was just about to make that same post!
Now, let's also be fair, they could do a real bitching Man Vs. Wild game. Lost In Blue can eat its heart out.

This MUST be on the PS3. You need realism in this type of game and you need the cancer healing powers of the PS3 to be able to process the millions of shades of brown which this game will be working with. There is no way that any amount of duct tape could manage to run this game on the Wii.
