He should equip one of these in his next place of residence:

Heck, I want to make one, and I don't even live in an apartment.

Hrm.. my girlfriend seems really interested in Guitar Hero but has never played either. Was gonna get Guitar Hero III for my 360 so we could play it together(with an extra guitar or something) but I'm having a hard time finding it and there is always the option of Rock Band. The noise the drums make is a turn off though, but this may be a solution(those pads). Question is, guitar alone, which game is better in your opinion?

If you read the actual notice on the referenced site the tenant is given the option to either vacate or comply with the terms of the lease. The lease indicates that your neighbors shouldn't be able to hear you after 10pm. All they have to do is just be quiet. no eviction. maybe you should UPDATE. then again, sensationalized headlines draw ad revenue so whatever

But that would mean that they would have to stop Rocking so hard, and that's not an option.

ROCK ON! \m/>.

If you'd read the story you'd know I already covered that:

"Even though the notice states that he has 10 days to 'abide fully by the covenants and conditions' of his rental contract, luminary pants claims that he has until December 1 to move out."

I'm not saying he's telling the truth, but according to him he doesn't have a choice other than to move out.

Bulls*it! He must have done something before Rock Band to get this eviction notice. I doubt a game that's been out less than two weeks would cause enough noise (even on full blast, 24/9 days that is) to force a landlord to evict him without a warning. Um...there's something telling me luminary pants isn't giving us all the facts.

Dude, I'm so siked we've finally switched to the 9 day week...so long as the bonus days are Weekend days. Special note though, the phrase will now be 18.7/9.

HUH? Did Kotaku credit Game Stooge? I posted this SEVERAL DAYS AGO, long before Kotaku did.

I suppose it's possible the guy also sent his news there?

But in my experience, Kotaku seems to go out of its way to not credit places sometimes. Like when they find things on obscure sites magically days later all by themselves lol.

No. Because it was Dugg at the same time - it's fairly obvious what Kotaku did. Trust me, various smaller site owners know how those guys operate.

http://www.gamestooge.com/2007/11/29/kotaku-steals-our-story-refuses-credit/

It's obvious they saw the Digg and used it for their own, stealing our site traffic in the process.

This guy shouldn't be getting this kind of attention. I agree it's kinda funny, but a moron is a moron.

If you live in an apartment, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO BE LOUD. I purchased a house that backs up to BLM (government property) so that I didn't have to worry about this as much. I don't have crazy subs like what some cars/ frat houses have, but I like to use my HSU sub while playing a shooting game or watching a movie. Can barely heat it outside, but I don't want to force someone else to listen to what I'm listening to... get some headphones...

But I wonder how much of it is loud music vs. poor building materials.

The apartment complex I live in used nothing to pad between floors. That means the folks that live above us sound like they are holding wrestling matches daily. I visited someone that lived on the third floor and I heard a familiar noise that I always thought was a kid running across the floor. I later found out it was their cat.

Here we were turning them in week after week only to find out that all this noise was caused by a 7lb. cat.

Now...if this is him rocking music too loud...that's his fault...but the banging of the drums can be heard from our hallway...and it shouldn't.

I hear ya Neon, the people above me sound like they have a pet elephant, or host sumo matches constantly and never get tired. Maybe they're just jumping up and down all day to piss us off?

Nah, just a small dog apparently after confronting them about the noise....

I thought I was being smart picking a first floor appartment with the patio.. boy was I wrong.

That's why my wife and I opted for a top floor apartment before we got a house. Granted, it was only a three story apartment building, but we never had problems with noise.

1st floor gets the perks, but it's definitely noisier.

in the apartment above mine lives a senile old man who is always singing to himself, but it sounds more like pained moaning. it's really fricken annoying.

i wish they would evict that bastard.

It's not the first time Kotaku has failed to credit a tip. As an editor of a smaller gaming site, I've had my tips go uncredited at Kotaku, where as Joystiq or X3F is always willing to give it where it's due. I've tipped them about stories I'd created, been the source for, and they'd credit no one when they wrote it up.

Photographs I HAVE TAKEN WITH MY CAMERA have been used in their articles, no credit given.

This doesn't surprise me. My friend had cops called on him by his neighbors (he lives in a house). The cop said they had reports of a party going on with a band.

I got a lot of noise complaints at my apartment way back at the beginning of the year. The FINAL STRAW was when the cops came up to my apartment while I was playing IIDX at a pretty low volume and asked if we were having a party....nope, just playin this video game.

long story short, I was out before memorial day which was like 3 weeks away, but our final warning/compliance notice was when i was playing beatmaniaIIDX by myself. whoops. they must not like techno music.

It looks like luminary pants wasn't evicted, if you read the rest of the forum post he and his roomate talked to the property managers and worked things out.
