To that end, let's help out the "back compat ninjas" (as they're known) and identify and rank the games we want to see running on the 360. We've started by gathering every single game Joystiq readers listed here, and dropping them into this fancy UnSpun poll. Want to add another? Click on "Add an item to this list" at the bottom of the poll. Something on there that shouldn't be? Ask us to yank it in the comments. Something ranked higher or lower than it should be? Well, that's where you come in.

Yeah, where the fuck is Riddick. From the Xbox.com FAQ!
Q: Are you intentionally trying to keep a game off the list because you want us to buy the Xbox 360 version?
A: Not at all. Our goal remains to get every game to be backward compatible. The only things influencing what games we're working on are how popular the title is, and how easy it is to make backward compatible. Several original Xbox games on the list already have Xbox 360 counterparts.

Someone must have added it (you guys can add to this list!). I've removed it. If any other funny business pops up, call it out, vote it down, and I'll try to remove them when I see 'em.

Before the newest update, I would've said ESPN NFL 2K5. But that's just been added and I've been replaying the game on my 360 this week. I think now the only game I own that I want to be backwards compatible for the 360 is Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath.

I also want to add that although Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee is on the BC list, it has no sound/ garbled faint sound/ sometimes sound if your lucky support. I can't believe that game passed compatibility tests, it needs to function to be playable, please fix this Microsoft!

I'd play through Beyond Good and Evil again, or just wander around it's wonderfully sculpted world. It's got a really big problem in Standard Definition, though, because it's letterboxed, not widescreen, if you fill the screen on an HD set it becomes horribly pixelated, and that's bad because it's a really beautiful game. In that respect it's a game that really needs putting on the 360.
I heard that these games are prioritized based upon popularity, which is a shame because those who did play Beyond Good and Evil came to emphatically adore it. But we know Microsoft are listening, so we just have to get enough people to tell them.
Ah, Azurik. Now that was a game where I didn't even manage to get through the demo.
"Balthazar, nooo!"

Possibly, but it might have been in an xbox magazine. If what you remember contained stilted blue people and wasn't an Eiffel 65 video then it might be.
I think looking at the demos was the first thing I did with that game, which was missing the point, but not as much as when I first played co-op, with a ps2-owning friend, he spent the whole time going "look at the grass!"
Once more for emphasis; Beyond Good and Evil for BC!

NHL Hitz 2002 is just a lot of fun. I had it on Gamecube, and when I got rid of that I bought it for Xbox. Yes, it's got a bug where if you've got more than a certain number of songs ripped to your hard drive, the game never loads as far as the main menu. But it seems like one line of code should fix that! And Hitz 2003 sucked. I never played any of the later installments in the series.

Haha I was about to bring how awesome Hitz 2002 was. For whatever reason, 2003 was supported by the 360 from the get go. So I went on a gamestop search and picked up 2003 for a few bucks. I agree - gameplay on 2002 was better, although 2003 had a bunch more options

They added ESPN NFL 2k5 recently, so I'm totally content with 360 BC.
