Joystiq Poll: Most missed Xbox 360 back compat titles
To that end, let's help out the "back compat ninjas" (as they're known) and identify and rank the games we want to see running on the 360. We've started by gathering every single game Joystiq readers listed here, and dropping them into this fancy UnSpun poll. Want to add another? Click on "Add an item to this list" at the bottom of the poll. Something on there that shouldn't be? Ask us to yank it in the comments. Something ranked higher or lower than it should be? Well, that's where you come in.

Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay was Awesome! :)
teh_ownerer @ Nov 29th 2007 11:51PM
Yeah, where the fuck is Riddick. From the Xbox.com FAQ!
Q: Are you intentionally trying to keep a game off the list because you want us to buy the Xbox 360 version?
A: Not at all. Our goal remains to get every game to be backward compatible. The only things influencing what games we're working on are how popular the title is, and how easy it is to make backward compatible. Several original Xbox games on the list already have Xbox 360 counterparts.
Axyl @ Nov 29th 2007 7:07PM
There are alot in that list I wanted on the update. WHY
MSoft Why?????
Silent Xenocide @ Nov 29th 2007 7:07PM
What kinda voting system is that? And why is Halo 3 on the list?
Jim Halpert DM @ Nov 29th 2007 7:08PM
I was thinking the same thing.
GoldenS1104 @ Nov 29th 2007 7:08PM
I'm confused too. I saw the title of the post, then saw Halo 3 and thought I must have misinterpreted it, but after reading the post I still have no clue why it's on there.
Christopher Grant @ Nov 29th 2007 7:13PM
Someone must have added it (you guys can add to this list!). I've removed it. If any other funny business pops up, call it out, vote it down, and I'll try to remove them when I see 'em.
David Hinkle @ Nov 29th 2007 7:08PM
Metal Gear Solid 2 please!
Dombay @ Nov 29th 2007 8:22PM
It wont work on the 360, it doesn't have pressure sensitive face buttons!
Lone Starr @ Nov 29th 2007 7:09PM
Halo 3?
I see what you did thar.
gonk @ Nov 29th 2007 7:09PM
good list
sifer2400 @ Nov 29th 2007 7:14PM
well ill say it anyways but why is halo 3 there -_-
Jarvis Slacks @ Nov 29th 2007 7:17PM
Vote up Otogi 1 and 2! Do it! Please!
Silent Xenocide @ Nov 29th 2007 7:20PM
Seems sort of weird to me that you can vote down games. But I guess why would you not want to see a game on back compat.
Iain @ Nov 29th 2007 7:20PM
SSX Tricky needs to be made compatible. I don't want to have to buy a PS2 to play it again. :(
Sam406 @ Nov 29th 2007 7:21PM
Psychonauts, or do you want to recive the pen torture again?
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/zeropunctuation/1368-Zero-Punctuation-Psychonauts
Steve @ Nov 29th 2007 9:00PM
Psychonauts is already backwards compatible. It was fixed in the last update before this most recent one.
Facehump @ Nov 29th 2007 7:47PM
Before the newest update, I would've said ESPN NFL 2K5. But that's just been added and I've been replaying the game on my 360 this week. I think now the only game I own that I want to be backwards compatible for the 360 is Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath.
Twist @ Nov 29th 2007 7:25PM
I am not sure why Chronicles of Riddick is so high on this list. Sure it was a great game, but they are making an enhanced and extended version of it for the 360 already. I would rather just wait for the new hotness.
fwacce @ Nov 29th 2007 11:08PM
How about those that don't want to spend more money on the game again, regardless of upgrades.
Mike Schramm @ Nov 29th 2007 7:46PM
gogo voodoo vince!
Knight Marquise @ Nov 29th 2007 7:31PM
Advent Rising....playing Mass Effect has made me really miss being able to play this game on my 360.
rikimaru @ Nov 29th 2007 7:36PM
Vote for The Warriors!
Come out to plaaayeeee... along with those hardcore soldiers, heavy boppers, bad mother Dudes etc..
Who's with me!?
CAN YOU DIG IT!!!?
DemonGSides @ Nov 29th 2007 7:43PM
Why is JSRF on there? It is back compat, I played it the other day.
DemonGSides @ Nov 29th 2007 7:45PM
KuF is also playable, I'm positive.
Chris @ Nov 29th 2007 7:51PM
Because the one on the Dual disk bundled with Sega GT doesn't work.
Christopher Grant @ Nov 29th 2007 7:52PM
I've removed both of them! Thanks!
DemonGSides @ Nov 29th 2007 7:55PM
Chris: Yes it does. I have the dual disc. It works.
JimyD @ Nov 29th 2007 7:44PM
The first Unreal Championship - classic Xbox FPS.
Smoke_Dawg_187 @ Nov 29th 2007 7:51PM
Midway Arcade Treasures 1 - 3
Capcom Classics
rikimaru @ Nov 29th 2007 7:53PM
I also want to add that although Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee is on the BC list, it has no sound/ garbled faint sound/ sometimes sound if your lucky support. I can't believe that game passed compatibility tests, it needs to function to be playable, please fix this Microsoft!
Batzarro @ Nov 29th 2007 7:53PM
I got Kakuto CHoujin(Back alley Brawl?) and X-men Next Dimension in there!
(Dark Side Points Gained)
Ethan @ Nov 29th 2007 7:54PM
I'd play through Beyond Good and Evil again, or just wander around it's wonderfully sculpted world. It's got a really big problem in Standard Definition, though, because it's letterboxed, not widescreen, if you fill the screen on an HD set it becomes horribly pixelated, and that's bad because it's a really beautiful game. In that respect it's a game that really needs putting on the 360.
I heard that these games are prioritized based upon popularity, which is a shame because those who did play Beyond Good and Evil came to emphatically adore it. But we know Microsoft are listening, so we just have to get enough people to tell them.
Ah, Azurik. Now that was a game where I didn't even manage to get through the demo.
"Balthazar, nooo!"
Silent Xenocide @ Nov 29th 2007 8:02PM
Sounds familiar, is that a demo on the Halo disc?
Ethan @ Nov 29th 2007 8:26PM
Possibly, but it might have been in an xbox magazine. If what you remember contained stilted blue people and wasn't an Eiffel 65 video then it might be.
I think looking at the demos was the first thing I did with that game, which was missing the point, but not as much as when I first played co-op, with a ps2-owning friend, he spent the whole time going "look at the grass!"
Once more for emphasis; Beyond Good and Evil for BC!
Shockgamer @ Nov 29th 2007 8:00PM
Added the 007 games and Destroy All Humans! 2
Apparently, word hasn't gotten out to everybody that Freedom Fighters is now back compat. ;)
Shockgamer @ Nov 29th 2007 8:21PM
As is Panzer Dragoon Orta, lol.
Christopher Grant @ Nov 29th 2007 9:45PM
Both removed. Thanks!
CCSurfer @ Nov 29th 2007 8:02PM
ToeJam & Earl III: Mission to Earth?
Anyone?
Bueller...?
Logic Bus @ Nov 29th 2007 8:02PM
NHL Hitz 2002 is just a lot of fun. I had it on Gamecube, and when I got rid of that I bought it for Xbox. Yes, it's got a bug where if you've got more than a certain number of songs ripped to your hard drive, the game never loads as far as the main menu. But it seems like one line of code should fix that! And Hitz 2003 sucked. I never played any of the later installments in the series.
HeyTone @ Nov 29th 2007 8:09PM
Haha I was about to bring how awesome Hitz 2002 was. For whatever reason, 2003 was supported by the 360 from the get go. So I went on a gamestop search and picked up 2003 for a few bucks. I agree - gameplay on 2002 was better, although 2003 had a bunch more options
Cowdisease @ Nov 29th 2007 8:11PM
I added the first X-Men Legends, Spikeout, and Taito Legends to the list.
ThornedVenom @ Nov 29th 2007 8:15PM
I don't have an Xbox, but HOLY SHIT that's a lot of games missing out backwards compatibility. And they're not all shit too.
jake11 @ Nov 29th 2007 8:24PM
brothers in arms. that is all
Von Dozier @ Nov 29th 2007 8:26PM
They added ESPN NFL 2k5 recently, so I'm totally content with 360 BC.
Nico @ Nov 29th 2007 8:34PM
Prince of persia
http://www.spymac.com/details/?2312580
Cabal @ Nov 29th 2007 8:37PM
Panzer Dragoon Orta already is BC.
Mike @ Nov 29th 2007 8:56PM
Both Simpsons games listed are already BC
Steve @ Nov 29th 2007 9:03PM
Second that. Once they come out with the 360 remake it will make playing the original obsolete. Let's focus on titles that don't have impending replacements.
Steve @ Nov 29th 2007 9:05PM
Er that should be a reply to Twist's comment about Riddick.
