Producer: Metal Gear Solid 4 must sell a million copies day one

Man, I got a 360 the first week it was available. Now I won it for free, granted, but I would have bought it anyway. Same with the Wii. The PS3 I've been putting off. Every time a game is coming out that looks cool to me, it ends up getting thrashed in the reviews (ie: lair). But if MGS4 doesn't get announced as multi-platform when it's been out at least a month on the PS3, well, damn it, I'm going to have to break down and buy the console.

Are they actually afraid they won't sell a MILLION copies on Day 1 of its release...

WHAT A JOKE THIS ARTICLE IS!!!

CMON PEOPLE.....this is THE reason Many if not all of us bought a PS3 (FFXIII being the other real main reason and buying the PS3 to be a Movie Player being the other 3rd reason).

It's not like we haven't been waiting for this game....and waiting...and waiting.

To sum up WAAAAY too many comments:

1. It's theoretically possible for MGS4 to sell 1 million on day one as is required by the article.

2. It's pointless to question why a million needs to be sold the first day. Really we'd need clarification directly from the source.

3. It should be released on the 360 as well, but probably won't

4. Vegeta and others need to look up what a heuristic is, specifically the availability heuristic. I'm sick and tired of people bullshitting about facts instead of taking 5 minutes to look them up. Nobody cares about your ballpark guesstimate; you're stupid.

5. All of anime sucks and caters only to those people who want to be able to draw their own porn. Case in point: all of anime and the how to draw it books.

Well, Kojima and Konami can count on me !! I will buy it on day 1! And so will 20+ of my friends :D and we live in America I haven't counted my friends that live in Greece and SO BADLY WANT MGS4, dunno if it will release over there, if not I'll have to buy it for them and ship it! And I've got quite a few friends in Greece that are abosulutely going crazy over MGS4, 10 of them have recently got into mgs series after seeing me play one of the missions! So there yo go, MGS can apeal to people that have never been into any games before, actually I conside myself to be a casual gamer too as I do not play many games at all.. I myself have recently got into it because of my brother and when he lent me the MGS2 for ps2 I was hooked I started on with mgs1 and mgs3.. Now I am droooooooooling over mgs4 and the wait is getting longer and longer and in the meantime i have turned many of my friends into mgs fans! People that, like myself, do not play games and know nothing about any other game like say GTA or Halo (hell we have never even touched these games and dunno a shit about em) are going absoluteley nuts over MGS$!! :D FDAMNIT KOJIMA!!! RELEASE MGS4 ALREADY!!! I'm ready to stand outside any store for 5+ hours in the midle of the night to get my hands on it on the first day!!!! YES I AM THAT DEDICATED to metal gear and so are my friends!!

oh and to people that say mgs is not good enough and not on par with halo.. well you shouln't be on mgs topic bashing the game if you don't like it! thats what i do i'll never go to halo topic and post shit as i am never going to buy it!!!

SO yeah I was saying you should just sht the hell about MGS NOT HAVING MORE FAN BASE THAN YOUR FAV GAME! i mean seriously! when mgs can attract me, a girl who never plays game, then it can attract anyone.. The only problem with mgs is that it's plots are not very easy to understand you need to spend hours to understand what's being said and most of the time the plots have deep meanings!! and some times the cutscenes are integral to game playing cause they give you hints for next level or mission or whatever. And fighting with the boss is more satisffying when you know their back story!

but of course most people on here are just in their teens and give a shit about story! all they want to do is kill people.. well this isn't the game for people like you! right enough of me going on and on about mgs :p toodles kids!

Yes, In the Past 2 months, PS3 has sold over 2 million consoles (28th Oct - 30th Dec), sure as the holiday season ends this will drop but a) it will still remain higher than 360 and b) going at a steady rate (500,000-1,000,000), by july of 2008, its install base should consist of over 12 Million.

And for the 1 Million in 1 day, that should be easy.

Picture 12 people standing in a row, at least one of they people will buy MGS I can assure you, so then picture 12 Million people standing in a square (rows of 12), I can assure you at least 1 Million People will buy the game, 1/12 people is rather easy I'd say.

If it was released, we'd only need 1/9 people (8.92) which is easy enough also.
