New Silent Hill V details finally surface

It's been a while since Konami first announced Silent Hill V, and details revealed since have been few and far between. A new issue of Official Playstation Magazine, however, has revealed some new tidbits of information about the latest in the survival horror series.

The radio and the flashlight -- which were abandoned in the previous Silent Hill game -- return in the fifth console installment of the series. Unlike previous games, the camera will feature full 3D movement, and the article hints at some possible Sixaxis functionality in the PS3 version. The rest of the article features some new, "exclusive" images and character renderings, and recaps story and gameplay elements that were already known, but it could be a nice refresher for anyone who's forgotten exactly what to look forward to.

In my opinion it looks identical to the way the nurses looked in the Silent Hill Movie. I think that was more the look they were going for, by the way Americans aren't the leaders in boobies in games, why don't you ask the current designers of Devil May Cry 4 and Dead or Alive what their names are... here's a hint, they are Japanese.

I am a fan of Silent Hill 1-3, I never really played 4 and I know i'll be getting to it eventually. I have to say that I am very interested in seeing how this game will turn out. As it comes to monsters some of these scans show some things that could create serious challenges. That Siam thing for example is a huge half man half woman that's apparently fast.... It's pretty impressive to see the creature work.

Now since everyone feels it necessary to discuss the Nurse I'll take my opportunity as well. I will say that it's harkens back to SH2 but also the SH movie. Did any of you guys see that? The nurses probably made for one of the more tense and visually impressive scenes in the whole film. There are about 18 of them and they move in a very creepy segmented way. For all of you that are impressed by the above graphical creation all of the nurses in that scene have the same impressive physical "stature". Anyway it's a good movie and its obvious they are using some of the same designs from the flick in the game which could make for fun additions.

I can't wait for Silent Hill 5. 4 was okay, but Origins was great and 1-3 were all incredible, (2 especially). Returning to those roots on current gen hardware can only be a good thing.
