Sega beefs up Steam offerings: Universe at War and more coming
Steam is the agoraphobic gamer's best friend: all the joy of video games, none of the hassle of venturing "outside" with "people" to acquire them. So it's with these folks in mind that we deliver the latest news from Valve's land of digital distribution: Sega is beefing up their offerings on Steam – currently limited to Medieval II and Rome: Total War – beginning with Sega Rally Revo and Sega Rally (both available now) to be followed with the rather high profile RTS Universe at War as well as the movie tie-in The Golden Compass next month.
There's also some good news for our European friends: those previously available Sega titles are now also available in "Europe and most of the world." Oh, and you can look forward to Sega's Worldwide Soccer Manager and Futbol [sic] Manager if that sorta thing interests you. We'll probably stick with the alien invasion one.

I prefer retail versions of games. Except the Orange Box, which was a really cheap plastic box (orange, at least) with no manual or other stuff, just a sticker with the product key and 2 CD's, and get this, one was actually attached to the box, but the other was in one of those shitty paper CD holders. LAME.
The Bioshock box is amazing though... it has this hard #D cover, and it just REEKS of quality.

I would give my japanese sports car to go home and turn on a next gen console that had a Sega logo on it.
Sega, I misses you.

Steam is doing really well. It's miles ahead of Games for Windows on the PC... Plus there are no subscription fees! Long Live Valve!

I don't like the US games boxes though. They're too wide. I prefer the European boxes which are more like DVD cases...
I agree though, any company putting game DVDs inside paper envelopes deserves to be fined.

I'm an European :P
Yeah that paper envelope really pissed me off, and I realized I should've gotten it from Steam instead. Those envelopes should be reserved to DRIVER SOFTWARE only.

Unreal Tournament 2004 came in paper sleeves. There were like 6 discs, though.

What's up with there being no demos though? At least, no demos on the games I check out.

"Futbol" does not require a "sic".
And mocking people with a psychiatric illness does not make you cool, nor clever.
