Well I'll never visit Gamespot again. I used to read and watch Jeff's reviews all the time, because I felt like he was an honest reviewer. To have him fired for doing his job of informing the sites readers of good and bad games is unbelievable.

I hope Mr. Gerstmann ends up with Gametrailers.com

This shows that we really need a Consumer Reports type magazine that does not sell add space but instead makes their money from selling subscriptions. That way we could actually get an honest review and quit being fucked by these fake reviews.

I don't know what everyone else is talking about, because I usually find that the general consensus of reviewers (taken as a whole) is pretty much spot on.

Any one person's opinion can be off, but that's what Metacritic is for. Heavily advertised games are panned quite often by just about any major review source I have frequented in my past. I don't see where everyone is getting so cynical.

That guy was one of the better ones on the site! I really hope this isn't true! If it is though I'll just go to the new site he's on! Oh and that review didn't even seem that bad! What's the big deal?! GS already got their money from Kane and Lynch and so who cares if they write a true review. That's what we want to see on those sites!

This blows a lot. I actually subscribe to gamespot's premium service to avoid all their ads and to get their video reviews off of their premium servers that are super fast download. I loved Jeff's video reviews because he was so off-the-cuff and I felt he was honest with them all. He was also my favorite on the Hotspot podcast.

Generally when I would look at reviews for games, I would download the video review from gamespot (and hope it was jeff doing it) so I could watch some in-game footage and get a general idea what the game is all about, and then check metacritic to verify. If he is for real gone for good, I might stop going there.
