Video: GSB demos the Fall Update and its features
29
Hey kids, heads up! We just revealed what new goodies will be headed our way when the new Fall Update releases next Tuesday, but reading about it is only half as fun as seeing it in action. And that's where the Gamerscore Blog comes in. They just posted a nine minute video showing off and showcasing the impending Fall Update's features and demoing everything in an easily consumable YouTube video. Get excited, get watching and take it in all. The Fall Update has a lot to offer. Oh, and by the way. We're digging the new dashboard navigation and re-organization ... much love to that.

Did you like how I replied to the first comment so that mine will always be the second comment?

Nov 28th 2007 11:17AM Thanks again for the clarification.
Hey what of the fact that the first poster can really monopolize the first page of comments by continually replying to his own post???

Digging a little deeper reveals that you won't actually be able to delete the entries for old XBLA trials off your card, it just won't create any new ones -

DivX? Check
Reduced Price XBLA games? Check
Cleaner Navigation and all-around Dash improvements? Check
Very stellar update all around... and as someone who never owned an original Xbox, I'm excited about Xbox originals.

Well I for one am pretty excited by this news. The dashboard seems to be receiving some speed upgrades, and the additions of Bios will be welcome as well.
Thanks for the video post.

They should make it so any game with 0 GS doesn't show up. Then after you get GS on a game, then it should list the game.

I'm a bit surprised that there are now mention of carrying your marketplace purchases to a new console/with a new hd (I mean: being able to play purchases without being connected to XBL). I thought MS said previously that this will be solved by the Fall update (or at least that they were working on this).

I mean "no mention" not "now mention". Sorry about that.

I have both a new console and a new HD (that was replaced separately). I called MS due to the problem and they had me take several steps that fixed it. I can now access the games as I always could.
I doubt this is something they'd address in this video since, at least based on my experience, they have some methods to fix it.

Good Update All Around
However...one tiny observation
When they were going through the blades I didn't see a DEMO tab to access demos. I may have just observed it wrongly or overlooked it...can someone confirm that there is a demo tab.

And everyone said divx would never happen... to you I say "na na na na naaaaaaaa naaaaaaaa"
My External Hard Drives are so happy to get their space back.
Unfortunately I now have to reconvert my videos from stupid wmv to divx. (worth it for the extra space)

You know, I don't even have complaints anymore about lateness or whatever they add to the 360. The fact that we have an evolving platform, that they update twice a year is fine by me.
Unlike my PS3, which seems to want to be downloading firmware update 2.2.1.5.3.2.1.3.6.2.1.5.7.3.2.1.6.6 perpetually.

Inside Xbox looks like an exciting new feature. It's nice to know I could have a quick look at what's going on within the depths of the marketplace.

This update actually looks pretty sweet. It is cool that you will be able to stream previews fullscreen now. It was annoying trying to watch a preview on that tiny screen.
I still wish that Xbox Originals would have achievements. Too bad that can't just add those in!
