To make sense of the deal, and its ramifications, we've assembled an all star panel. Seated at the roundtable are James Brightman, Lead Business Editor for Game Daily BIZ; Simon Carless, Editorial Director of the CMP Game Group (think Game Developer Magazine and Gamasutra.com); and lastly the alphabetically prejudiced Michael Zenke, Editor at Slashdot Games, blogger at Joystiq's own Massively.com, as well as blogger at his own MMOGNation.com. Topics discussed include Blizzard's independence, Activision's gains, Sierra's status, the possibility of console games from Blizz, the possibility of MMOs from Activision, and whether or not EA needs some new drawers, so give it a listen.

Oh the outraged cries, oh the weeping and rending of garments. Don't cry too hard, WoW-heads, that's intended as a bag on Activision rather than Blizzard.
Count myself lucky I didn't manage to insult Apple in the process too.

I have not listened to this round table yet, but I did listen to the podcast - "Chocolate Log Edition". Glad to see I got a mention. I thought it was pretty cool.

As for the discussion of porting World of Warcraft to a console and the inferiority of a gamepad control...
I believe the PS3 already supports USB keyboards and it would be an easy patch to the 360's dashboard to allow a USB keyboard to function in a WoW game. I'm surprised nobody in the roundtable mentioned that possibility.

i really appreciate the professionalism with which you approach these round-tables. its refreshing after the mind-numbing manner that other game journalists approach their profession (im not sure profession is the right word, passion perhaps?)
