In addition to the dash update, 360 owners will have another nice surprise waiting for them (as will their PC counterparts): a title update and new DLC for BioShock.
The title update includes some small fixes and one big one: A new widescreen FOV, the answer to some specific, antiquated prayers. The new content (just in time to refresh the memories of Game of the Year list makers) includes a plasmid pack (Machine Buster 1 & 2, Vending Expert 1 & 2, Sonic Boom 1 & 2, EVE Saver), the option to disable Vita-Chambers and a new, 100-point achievement called "Brass Balls." To get it, you'll just need to beat the game on hard without using a Vita-Chamber. No problem, right?
We know, we know, this news couldn't come at a worse time. You're busy with the only games that ever matter: The ones released in the past three weeks. But don't you want to check and make sure all the daddies are still dead? Don't you want to see if those splicers tried to build a rudimentary society Lord of the Flies-style? If you get a moment to spare, isn't it time you checked in on Rapture?

Great game, but really no interest in going back through it again just yet. I'm still holding on to this game, however, and will likely play through it again in a year or two.

Since I'm not allowing myself to buy any more games until next year, this'll give me a good excuse to finally go back in and finish this sucker on Hard.

I was wanting to go back and beat Bioshock again. Now I have more of a reason to....that is as soon as I can bring myself to take Mass Effect out.

Don't know if this is still true, but when I was looking at the DLC this morning it wouldn't let me download it because I wasn't a gold member. Now seeing as how Bioshock is a single player only game why should I have to pay for a gold membership to get the DLC. I never play multiplayer so it would be a waste of money.

Anyone can use XBLM(arketplace) and get patches for free. You don't need a gold membership to do that. Silver is supposed to let you download anything you can pay for (in this case, it's free). Might have been a glitch or just high traffic...

No way I'd replay this game just for this. I have to wonder who would. Enjoy the monster closets.
The good story and excellent art direction is more than enough to make up for the gameplay deficit the first time through, no so the 2nd time.
And why does this game need new hacking plasmids? The hacking is trivial in all but a few spots even with only the hacking plasmids it had. I never used a single machine in the game without hacking it first.

NOOOOOOOOOOO my xbox 360 just got the RRod(again)while playing The orange box,Arggg!!!.
I beated Bioshock in hard without using the Vita-chambers already,Telekinesis+Freeze+Shock/Burn=Game.
Well I suppose I have to wait 10 days to get that achievement, meanwhile I guess I will play F.E.A.R in the PC.

God I hate how I've become such an achievement whore since I got my 360...
But this is one achievement that just doesn't seem worth it to me...
Although it was a fun game to run thru...

It is so worth 100 achievement points. You should see what The Orange Box has made me do for 15, 20, and 30 points! :o)
Actually, I never got the last 40 for beating the game on Hard. I got 960/1000 on the normal setting and the 40 points did not appear to be incentive enough. Now, however, 140 points is worth it! Plus some new stuff to boot.
I never used the vita chambers when playing through before, so this should not be to bad for me. I did not like them as they destroyed the continuity of my game and made me feel out of sorts. Recommendation: SAVE SAVE SAVE! That's how I did it the first time.

The core shooter gameplay was pretty damn generic, though plasmids, an interesting fictional world and the awesomeness of Big Daddy's kept me going for two playthroughs.

It's possible it could have been a glitch but I don't think it was. the message state (not exact words) that the content was available only for gold members and that if I would like to access the content I had to upgrade to a gold membership or wait a few days (weeks? - don't remeber exactly) and it will become free for Silver members.

The game played incredibly perfect for me and all my friends on PC the very first time with no problems whatsoever with the exception of the people with widescreens.
Anyhow, this patch doesn't add any replay value to BioShock, there's no use playing it all over again. Two three-minute alternate endings as "replay value" was already cutting it really close.
Just get to work on the god damn sequel please. And add multiplayer, co-op (people are getting the idea, they are including these in their games all the time now), and tons of replay value or the game is going down the shitter within a month just like BioShock did.

What does it mean by 'without using vita-chambers', if I die and go back to a save point can I get this achievement? Personally I never used the vita chambers, always just loaded up a save.

I am a silver member as well and I too can not download the update. It says I must wait a few days since i'm not a Gold Member.

2K has really screwed the pooch with the post-launch support of this game. I wonder if the Silver member thing is MS though? Doesn't seem like the patch fixed much of anything on the PC side, people are still complaining about the same old crap on 2k's forums.
Hopefully 2K can just start ironing out people's problems with further patches, though honestly, I doubt they will. It works fine on my PC too, but I feel for those who get crashing, no audio, or other game stopping issues).
