Fall Update's Live ID management causes issues

We've just been informed via Gamertag Radio and Xbox.com's TriXie that the Fall Update is releasing with a minor bug related to the new Live ID switching feature. Specifically, when you download the Fall Update and change the Live ID you have associated with your gamertag, a bunch of Xbox.com issues arise. Problems including all your Xbox.com forum posts being deleted, your community user level will go bye-bye, your icons will be erased and your gamertag will be replaced with with an "anonymous" name. The Xbox 360 dashboard team is trying their darnedest to get a fix in place and should have a solution available in the next few days. Until then, DO NOT change your Live ID that is associated with your gamertag until a fix is announced. You've been warned.

This really sucks. This is one of the things I'm most looking forward too with the update. Hopefully they can fix this soon.

i hope with this fix they actually implement deleting old xbla trials from played history, not just new ones...

Ugh, and I just changed my Live ID too (had to change email addresses).

Just a note: those changes will only take place on your Xbox.com forum appearance, nothing else. So you really only have to be worried if you post there alot.

Not really. Just doing what you have to in order to get it before the rush of others do. I'm doing the same thing.

I'm up waiting, eating leftover noodles with Japanese 'sauce' (Bulldog sauce), and watching a Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode 'Werewolf'.

Oh, and praying my console works in the morning.

Your English seems fine to me, most dutch seem to underrate their English skills. Mind you I live in Rotterdam and work in Delft so most speak English to me :)

Did you have to sign in and out again or did it just pop up that it was there to d/l?

It's a rolling update, guys. Begin to look for it at 2am PST (which is past), but it might not hit your console for an hour or more..I'm going to keep checking in with you guys for a bit here and Live itself in about 45 minutes.

If the Fall Update hits you, let us know to go get it ourselves, guys.

Yea I got it. I just read on the xbox.com forums that if you start a Live Arcade game it will update, don't know if that's true or not.

can anyone actually see the inside xbox? because I can't all I see is what I normally see, messages, friends and chat and IM, but no inside xbox :O!

also the advertisment doesnt work anymore, and everything looks really greay right now :P

Furthermore, the only reallllyyy cool things are Xbox originals, and Divx support! but besides that everything is still a little confusing right now, especially that weird new way of viewing games (arcade games) and some pages on the MP

Runs fine off a flash drive with no hiccups. I also tested this with AVI files on a data DVD. It displays "buffering" for like 15 seconds then starts playing the show, which is a 350MB file, approx. 40 minutes in length. Looks great! Time to get a bigger external HD.

The arcade worked for me as well, downloading and gonna check out the DivX. Thanks!

Yes! finally dvix! works great with the clips I tested it with. goodbye tversity. goodbye transcode360. goodbye slow ass MCE. the 360 is finally a true media center.

It does work pretty nice, some of my stuff still doesn't play but a lot more of it does than before the update. It does play very clean as well so that's awesome.

Wow I love the update! The whole interface is really snappy, definetly that promised 2X improvement in speed. Gonna test xvid right now.

Media center keeps freezing :(

Hmmm... didn't fix the licensing for all of my downloaded content that was tanked after exchanging my RRrD box a few months ago. Was hoping it was an un-announced feature. Oh well, back to the phone calls.

I can't believe people actually stayed up for a stupid update......
