I love the fact that I can view all new content (movies, tv shows, game dlc, demos, trailers, arcade) without backing out of the screen. Twist FTW!

Divx streams like a charm. I'm very happy. I can now remove my DVD/Divx player from my very crowded entertainment center.

Nothing specific blows me away or anything, but the menus are a heck of a lot easier to use with this new system. So I'm happy about that.

Plus I like that all of the Xbox Originals have free themes and gamer pics.

Speaking of Xbox Originals, I thought it was fantastic that the past-rumored appearance of Indigo Prophecy turned out to be reality.

I haven't checked whether the Halo theme and pics are the same as the ones that came with the 360.

Also how is Halo just 2.3gb?

When you play a Divx video you should see a prompt to download a codec pack (I'm guessing codec).

Actually he's not alone. I got the download and yet on the Live blade it still has Messages as a separate option from Friends and no Inside Xbox option.

Not to start jumping to conclusions, but I'm guessing that non-US Live users don't get the Inside Xbox feature.

Twist navigation is slowly but surely making it all usable, but it still seems like they could eliminate a step or 10.

I can't try DiVx untile Connect360 updates.

The divx streaming seem to be down sampled, the quality over a network is crappy vs my dvd player or archos to tv and video has to be set to full screen by default

great job!

Really? I'm having problems with it myself. It can't play anything off my external hard drive, but it does recognise them as xvid and divx files. It says I need to download the codec and directs me to the ipod update.

What do you use to stream the files? Tversity?

Upgrading your account from Child Status sucks though...I don't have a credit card, I still use my father's. XBL wants a new one, this is bothering me.

Blades seem to be so much faster now, it's quite nice.

Divx works great, but you have to make sure that if you want to stream from your computer, than you have to use Windows Media Player (not sure about 3rd party programs, so inquire about those individually). I was using Zune to serve up my videos and it was not compatible with divx. Here is a good website explaining the new video options for the Fall Update:

http://blogs.msdn.com/xboxteam/archive/2007/11/30/december-2007-video-playback-faq.aspx

Also if anyone has not played Psychonauhs, then they owe it to themselves to see what the hoopla is all about.

The pop up menus and navigation are definitely faster! Bravo, that aspect as always annoyed me especially when I'm trying to see the menu during a game and it crawls out from the side of the screen. It's MUCH faster now. Bravo.

How do I get the Divx to work? I have the first season and a half of The Office on a dvd (divx files), but when I put it in it just say "mixed media disc".

I didn't see it at first either. but when you go into video and it says "mixed disc". you have to hit "X" to change video source. and you can select the disc that you've got in the drive.

these video updates are really only useful as long as you want to listen to everything in stereo.
no 5.1 AC3/AAC really sucks. c'mon MS. why not support?

All of my movies I have on my PC work now. As soon as I downloaded the extra codec everything showed up. This will save me so much time re-encoding all the movies and tv shows I downloaded.
I can't wait to go home from work and watch some movies I've been waiting for this update for.
