Today's Vii-est video: Vii commercial

Are you sick of the Vii yet? Because we're not. We don't really have a clue what's being said in this 4-minute commercial, but it honestly doesn't matter. What matters are the re-used clips of the same girl playing the same game, the Vii's flying wildly through space, and the creepily voyeuristic hand-held camera moments.

Additionally, ten Stanley nickels go to the first person who spots the half-second cameo by sister-site Engadget. It's on like Donkey Kong.

I look for Vii to be the front runner by Christmas '09. If what they say about it being all about the games is true, Vii's got a line up like none other.

Wow this was really funny in a train-wreck way. I mean, those first 30 seconds were the worst mess I've seen in advertising in a long time, and this is bad even among the already horrible commercials I've seen from Chinese TV. Very sad that deceptive advertising and snake-oil salespeople is a fact of life for Chinese people.

Sooner or later I hope consumers smarten up and learn to grow old of that canned corny Chinese announcer voice (seriously, they hire the same robotic voice for almost all their commercials, chanting the same canned crap). Why is selling crap so profitable? Because there's a sucker born every second in China. I'm sure given the 1.3 billion people there, you can con enough of them to turn a mighty profit.
