What an awesome marketing ploy:

Step 1: Review game and call it "right-wing" and mention all the hate for arabs and love for the Iraq war.

Step 2: Muddy the waters by delaying it, thus creating controversy.

Step 3: Watch gleefully as dittohead sheep get in line with other proles to pick up the game based solely on the fact that they *think* the reviewer was a liberal, and if he didn't like it that must mean they HAVE to love it, just to cancel him out. Even if the game sucks.

Step 4: PROFIT.

It's amazing what conservatives will willingly do as a group when you suggest that a liberal might oppose it. From the comments above, it looks like people are apparently going to purchase this game out of SPITE for "some librul left-winger" who reviewed it.

You have to love people who get in line without asking questions or seeking answers... It's always fun to live in a society where people do stupid, self-degrading, costly things just because they might possibly piss off the people they perceive as enemies.

Here's a idea, guys-- Instead of getting Army of Two because some liberal didn't like it, or because Ann Coulter sleeps with it, why don't you get it because the game has good gameplay, graphics, and scripting? You know--- Get it because it's GOOD, and not because it's disliked by people you dislike.

I know you'll get it anyway because you think it will somehow spite me or injure me in some way, seeing as now I've tipped my hand as a liberal. All I can say is go for it: EA doesn't quite have enough angry white men aged 16-15 buying their games just yet, and I'm sure they'll welcome your money, whether or not it's for spite. Just know it doesn't chap my ass for you to buy a game I don't like. It's your cash, dude. While you spend it on shit like "Army of Two" just to spite liberals, I'll be spending my $60 on a charity or campaign contribution to make sure you good ol' boys don't screw up the country any more this decade.

And I'll be laughing, because you fell for this transparent, weak marketing campaign like the suckers you are.

Yeah. Your spite hurts. Keep it coming. Maybe if Al Franken does a negative review of "Barbie Horse Adventures" by calling it "shamefully capitalist" you'll all rush out and buy that too-- You know, just to stick it to him!

That'll learn that liberal to not like a game!

This is what I love about liberals. They blast conservatives for being closed minded, for being less educated for being hatefull and elitest. And then they go and say hate filled, closed minded and elitest things like this.

Because conservatives don't think like you, they're automatically wrong? Just because they place less importance on some things... like you place less importance on some things, they're automaticaly stupid? Or less educated?

But hell, this is true of the right wing conservatives as well, only the conservatives don't even pretend to care about being open minded. They just "know" they're right and won't let things like discussion and concensus get in their way.

Come join us in the middle, it's nice here we can make decisions that are based on stuff like facts and consideration and agendas and ideological biases.

The reason that this is an issue is because there is very little review of the game itself. Instead it does its best to categorize it in a stereotypical fashion of what liberals think of conservatives.

If the review was based solely on impressions of the game and not the reviewer's politics on terrorism, war, and the other political party, nobody would bat an eye. Blame your own side for making an issue out of a non-issue.

Really.....Perfect Dark Zero has better graphics? Wow. However, when you look at the screanshots from Army of Two, they are leaps and bounds ahead of PDZ in the graphics department.

I am not trying to defend a game I have never played, but from that comment and using my own two eys, that does not make sense.

Oh, he was being sarcastic? And how did you get that? Was the whole article a complete satire then? Should we think the opposite of everything they wrote about the build of the game they played? Why would this be news of any sort if everything they wrote was sarcasm? does this mean the game is one of the best they ever played?

I not only find this story laughable but highly unrealistic!! I saw video of this game and it's no Gears of War but it looked damn good and funny as well!! I'm sure that the delay had to do with the game not being on par but I think that this so called reviewer is over reacting!!

whats with this rating system? You rate a comment + and it stays black, you rate it - and it gets so dim. Listen im going to read every comment anyway. You dont go into a conversation and ignore parts of it because your not enjoying them. You will just be confused down the line. So why lighten all that text and make me squint? At least on joystiq their rating system does nothing it seems.

The developers should be happy. By this magazine's description, they can safely assume that this will sell well on the 360.

Imagine that. We're condemning a game without actually relying on the final code.

I remember thinking the same thing about a certain FPS that had a really awful showing at E3 01.

I mean, it looked and played terrible. The graphics were glitchy. Everything about the game pointed to bargain bin.

Then the good folks at Bungie took some time and ran with it and released Halo in November of that year.

So yeah. I'm going to wait for better information than condemning it just because I'm angry EA delayed it.

Wow, pretty damn...damning.

I'm curious about the plot hate, just on the fact that I know next to nothing about the game's plot besides that trailer that made a stir a little while ago.

Unless it's just a case of differing "opinions." or the game not meeting with their perspective on world events, I'm genuinely surprised they managed to botch the plot of the game. I mean come on, how hard is it? The game practically could write itself.

PVC's get sent on a bunch of black ops missions in the days and weeks following 9/11, part damage control, part over-reaction from the pentagon and less..."noble." institutions. Few levels of terrorist shooting, assist in the invasion of Afghanistan, throw some missions into Pakistan's mountains, add some commentary on the PVC world, as well as the function of government, the disorder and chaotic state of the world, the frustration and flaws of both the United States, and the United Nations, and you can end up with a functioning storyline that doesn't seek to offend, or make some pretentious loudmouths on one side or the other feel good about themselves, but to just give some perspective..

"Oh yeah bonzai, all liberal people suck for having a general compassion for other people. You know, people who believe in basic rights for everyone. Obviously you can go too far but rightwing fucktards like you need to learn how to think logically and with a little compassion and empathy for other human beings."

Gee the standard statement of a typical liberal idiot. What a fucking moron, you think because the Right side is more aken to support our troops. Without war there would be no peace. War on Terror is ignored by liberals/left winged cooks until something like 9/11 happens then they wake the fuck up for a little while, then soon return to there imaginary world.

Why don't conservatives EVER admit that 9/11 had nothing to do with Iraq? Because it would destroy their entire argument in the face of mounting evidence that this war is a bunch of B.S.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have more to do with 9/11 but conservatives love to kowtow to them because their fearless leader loves to suck on their teets. If the fellas on this board who claim to be conservative are representative of the conservative movement, then the conservative movement has to be the most uneducated mass of ignorant, uninformed, reactionists in the history of our country.

BTW Army of One looked like shiat since the beginning.

Maybe I wasn't paying attention in High School, but I could've sworn that 1984 was a work of fiction.

I am a soldier and get much more support from conservatives and alot of hate from liberals. A conservative never spat on me for my service, liberals have.

I'm calling you out.

1984 was written as a warning that you obviously failed to comprehend.

If that did happen, at what point did you stop to have a political discussion with them in which you determined that they were in fact, liberals? And even if you did, and they were, their actions certainly don't represent those of liberals today, as a whole, so I am once again calling you out on your bullshit. They were just assholes.

In the latest Bloomberg/La Times poll nearly 70 percent of families with veterans favor withdrawing troops from Iraq. Would you claim that they are all liberals who aren't supporting the troops?

And in all honesty: Thank you for your service to our country. I never agreed with the (lack of) justification for this war. I believe that you may have believed that you were doing the right thing, but the evidence is overwhelming that your honor and bravery were used by a bunch of criminals who ultimately don't give a shit about you or our country. Maybe that's a difficult thing to come to terms with, but that doesn't make it untrue.

I have personally lost a dear friend of mine to this senseless war and just want to see it over.

@ David aka Knuckles

Aren't you playing sorry testing this game and if yes can you say any thing about it?

My 2 cents are that the concept is cool and I'm not really sad it got delayed (there a lot of other games to play) but I don't have to fill a mag that I planed moths ahead of time. An cause of the delay I now have to fill 5 pages ore sell a mag minus 5 pages. But Still this is no reason to bitch about it this happens next time make a plan B.

Hm this news is completely shocking to me. I was very excited about this game (I love co-op games that my and my brother can play, since he lives so far away, and my wife needs a break from me, lol). I will need to look into more reviews and wait until a more final version of the game comes out. I have nothing against the plot. I really don't care who I kill or what war I am playing in (fiction or not). I can be killing aliens, people, whatever it's all good. I knew the plot would be attacked since your fighting non-fictional middle eastern wars while other games decided if they do fight in the middle eastern areas they made up fictional fractions. I honestly do not care.

The characters "infantile high-fiving redneck jackasses" may be another story. A juvenile swear-fest is something I am not too interested in however it's not a deal breaker for me. The major beef I would have is it they put you in to too many cut-scenes and the playbility of it sucked.

But lets face it, you can't do a review on "clumsy controls" or graphics since the game has been delayed around 6 months. I have seen game play go from unplayable (not just clumsy) to great in less time. Same things on the graphics side (even though the videos seemed to not support the statement on this review).

I think they jumped the gun, and while it seems they have allot of work left I am not one to reject this game just yet..... Only time will tell.

I agree PSP_Amigo. I have been to Iraq and would go again if they let me.

People don't want war until something like 9/11 happens. Then when something happens they want war for a few weeks and then want it to stop. It does not work that way. But let's face it. People like to live in their own bubbles and nothing will change that.

I think we should get along, everyone has their own opinion and that is fine with me. One thing I do disagree with PSP_Amigo is that he is bashing the other "wing". Why? I think their is too much hostile actions towards other poeple who think differently then you. This is how Germany was split, this is why we had a civil war. There are many examples but I feel this country is leading down the path of another civil war or a split again. Which the right-winded rednecks would win because most of them are in the military or own alot of guns :) (I am joking of course).

I'm sorry but what does Iraq have to do with 9/11? That's right, nothing. Wrong country. Pretty close to it though, right? Same-ish area? And there's muslims there. They're probably all in on it. I guess.

The last half of your post was pretty intelligent. Shame I had to vote it down.

You all disgust me.

It's a game, not a fucking political memoranda, not a command on what to believe, just a game.

It's telling a story. Would you bitch about a book that focuses on a perspective you disagree with? No, you just don't read it. Don't like the commentary of Jar Head? Ignore it.

How exactly does a game that we haven't seen the final product on get this hate? Because you all get fed the right trigger words.

The fact is, it's entirely uncalled for, and perhaps even unprofessional for the reviewers to go and label it the way they did. Personal opinion should be kept out of the review. All they needed to say was that it looked bad, felt clunky, and that it's doubtful an extension will fix it's problems, and that they didn't agree with the tone of the story, or felt it was ridiculous for various reasons.

I hate all of you for making the internet the way it is.

I agree it's a game it's just the initial comments were biased and bullshit. They made of these comments to be more than just this game. They reak of left winged agenda, when they make comments like "("based on some right-wing idea of how great the war on terror is") ", that really pisses me off. They just don't know what the hell they are
talking about! Maybe they should try to constrain there comments to purely a game review without adding there political agende into there comments, that would go a long way towards peaceful responses.
