When the robots revolt and decide to overthrow humanity this is the sort of video that will be part of their propaganda films, convincing the on-the-fence robots that humanity is a plague that needs to be cleansed from the earth. Watch as the Engadget Chinese staffers rip open a helpless Vii (yes, you read that right) and laugh at the puny brain luxuriating in its cavernous digs. You can almost hear the death knell of humanity can't you?
Listen, the Vii can't help it that it's but a shabby imitator of the much more popular and (one would gather from the video) powerful Nintendo Wii. Don't you think it's self-conscious enough about that without you guys picking apart (literally) its other faults? ... Whatever. Just don't come crying to us when the metal ones decide to come for you ... and they will.
It's almost Christmas time! That kind of talk makes the Baby Jesus cry! Of course it's from Megas XLR. Oh, what I wouldn't give it have a DVD set of that show. ...and more preferably, Adult Swim picking it back up.
That's Coop from Megas XLR. Awesome cartoon if you ask me. I always see it on Sunday mornings when I have the chance, because it brings back good 90's childhood memories I had, and I recall I once saw an episode where they parody Sailor Moon...
He's not the only one who uses that avatar. I remember Khan used an avatar of him once, but unlike geve's, the shot was from the intro.
I highly recommend fans of SNL to buy "the commercial parodies" DVD. Between this, COLON BLOW, and UNCLE JEMIMA, it's worth the $10.
As for the Vii, unlike the "other" seventh gen consoles, at least it hasn't had any delays or problems with supply/distribution. Or so Stanley Nickels tells me in a fit of drunken rage.
That is ..just...wow ridiculous. I knew it was just a lame imitator of the much beloved Wii, but they didn't even really try it seems to me. I mean, come on. There is no way that when the robots take over that they will fret over this. They shall snub the Vii like it's nothing more than a roach!
and you clearly missed the point of that whole skit if you really though the writers of south park were just trying to make fun of japanese penis size.
It irks me how the Chinese (not all of them) saw no problem in this horrible Wii biteoff. However, there's a bit of redeeming quality in seeing other Chinese appreciating how bad it is.
Didn't catch all of it, but I found it funny how they pointed out that the Vii has an additional weight at the bottom to compensate for the "floatiness." Also, cables and ports that do pretty much nothing. Bleeding edge!
I liked that even though I don't understand a word of it, I can totally tell that geeks all the world over have pretty much the same speech patterns and laugh at the same things!

This video is made of win.
CONFIRMED: The Vii is just two Lamecubes duct taped-together!
Tiptup300 @ Dec 5th 2007 4:07PM
Its not the size that matters, its how you use it.
hvnlysoldr @ Dec 5th 2007 4:21PM
I see. The added weight must have been rolled up duct tape.
gevenstaines @ Dec 5th 2007 1:34PM
i don't think the robots will claim or admit to any relation to this contraption.
WiNG @ Dec 5th 2007 1:39PM
dude your avatar is from that awesome cancelled cartoon with the girl from the future and the car that was actually a mecha
I forgot the name, but the Devourer of Worlds episode was awesome
ThornedVenom @ Dec 5th 2007 1:42PM
@ WiNG
I think it was Megas XLR or something.
samfish @ Dec 5th 2007 2:13PM
Or something? OR SOMETHING?!

I just vote you up because I effing love Megas XLR.I sure miss Megas XLR and Invader Zim.
Mr Khan @ Dec 5th 2007 5:17PM
Yeah, i had an avatar of him up until around the time Galaxy came out
2nd most awesome cartoon ever, after SWAT Kats of course
BPM - The Return @ Dec 5th 2007 6:52PM
SWAT Kats was pretty kickass.
So was Zim.
But... honestly... I liked MEGAS more than either of them.
ThornedVenom @ Dec 5th 2007 7:04PM
Sorry samfish, wasn't too sure if I got the title right... therefore, the "something" slipped.
Or something.
ZapDash @ Dec 5th 2007 7:40PM
"'Rue the Day?' I'm gonna beat you up just for talkin' funny!"
Man I miss that show (and Zim [But at least that is on Dvd]).
Mr Khan @ Dec 5th 2007 7:43PM
"I feel like beginning to kill planets again, and where do you think i'm going to start?"
"I don't know... your mom's house?"

joystiq should probably just edit out that line

I'm surprised none of you has mentioned Rocko's Modern Life. That was one of Nickelodeon's golden shows, and it was pure brilliance if you ask me.
I don't know why, but Spunky was my favorite character. That dog did things in a stupid but cute way that has won a space on my heart. :D
ThornedVenom @ Dec 5th 2007 1:41PM
Awesome vid: YOU CHINESE HAVE NOTHING IN YOUR PANTS. D:
/lololol
I'm just disappointed that there's no hard drive. >_>
TrenchyC @ Dec 5th 2007 1:43PM
I thought for sure there would be 2 LameCubes inside held together by Masking Tape.

They made that? Does it have Trunk Monkey and Shmitt's Gay?
~
Ben @ Dec 5th 2007 2:10PM
That is the best SNL commercial ever. The fact that they had Sam Waterston do it made even that much better!
"...and when they grab with those metal claws you can't break free, because they're made of metal and robots are strong."
I'm definitely going to find that DVD
StrangeBum @ Dec 5th 2007 1:47PM

Cyro @ Dec 5th 2007 1:49PM
Did they just open up Wii ?
I dont think there is whole lot more in a Wii besides the CDROM.
gonk @ Dec 5th 2007 1:51PM
and the vii doesn't even have that
Moofree @ Dec 5th 2007 3:22PM
Neither does the Wii.
The drive only reads DVDs.
gonk @ Dec 5th 2007 1:50PM
boy that's an unnecessarily large container for that tiny mobo
samfish @ Dec 5th 2007 2:18PM
It's the Chinese. I think it gives them a collective boner to waste and pollute and use more toxic materials than necessary.
I mean, have you ever been to China? They BREATHE pollution. It's like the world that the Capitan Planet villains were trying to create!

I'm honestly surprised that they didn't ad a little extra weight to it to make it seem like less of a piece.

LOL@Sam that was some good stuff I mean sad, cause it is true, but funny cause well it is true.

Hirohito: Nothing! We are very simple people with very small penis! Mr. Hosek's penis is especially small!
Hosek: He he he! So small!
Hirohito: We cannot achieve much with so small penis! But, you Americans! Wow! Penis so big! SO BIG PENIS!
Hiroken @ Dec 5th 2007 2:01PM
Uh, yeah, not funny when you do it. Not really funny when South Park did it, either.
~
Grant @ Dec 5th 2007 2:17PM
hm, hiroken is it?
sounds asian to me.
I'm sorry, but the truth hurts.

I laughed so hard when South Park did it that my big American penis flopped out and slapped me in the face, giving me a concussion.
