GameFly Tunes music downloads start today
GameFly, in partnership with a company called Brandracket, will begin offering subscribers five free pre-selected songs to download per month beginning today. The feature is called GameFly Tunes and will highlight up-and-coming and established artists. Non-subscribers will have the option to download one featured track from the GameFly site. The first month will present music from artists RJD2, Thievery Corporation, Shadows Fall, Ok Go and Little Brother.Although not earth-shattering news (some answers as to what is going on with the jammed-up availability queues would be nicer), some added value for the site and subscribers is always nice. We'll take five free legally downloaded songs -- free and legal we like. Who knows, there might even be a couple gems in the song choices we can listen to on our iPod while playing Phase.

Darn, I was hoping it would be video game soundtrack music. That would make sense.

There's nothing wrong with free.
Though I wonder how much/what kind of DRM is on the songs.

free, no. pre-selected, yes.

Well I dig RJD2 so I'm not going to say anything bad. Besides...the stuff is free. I would rather they give GameFly rewards every 45 days to those that have been with them for over a year. Every 90 days is just too long!
What's up with the jammed queues Alexander? I've been getting pretty fast service and getting a lot of new titles. I've really noticed that things are much better than a year ago. That center in PA has made things better for those in the Midwest.

gamefly is the best when it comes to buying used games

RJD2 and Ok Go are both excellent acts (DJ/band respectively). Highly recommend a download, though I'm blocked at work so I don't know what songs in particular they're offering.

RJD2s only good CD was Deadringer... lets hope its from that album.

Don't care how many times I see that commercial. I chuckle every time.
Very, very clever.

Please someone inform me....what's the point of having music unrelated to games on a site for gaming rentals?
Micah @ Dec 6th 2007 7:07AM
Damn... I read that as GameTap at first. :(
