Graphics on GTA games always look about 10months behind other games but who cares! That was amazing!

i noticed a couple framerate hiccups myself. but overall it looks to be shaping up nicely. the graphics arent the greatest in the world (the water is great though) but then again neither were the other GTA games. i really cant wait for this, i havent played a good sandbox game in a long time.

They're five minutes late. I've been watching the other trailers over and over again to get ready :)

That trailer was lame...it seemed all it was, was a bunch of cutscenes clipped together.WTF? are we ever going to get in game footage?

Its all in game.... And it wasent all cut scenes.

Technically it is in-game since GTA doesn't use pre-rendered cutscenes. The question then is "are the cutscenes using the same models as stardard gameplay, or are they using a second set?", and judging from Rockstar Table Tennis' rather detailed graphics, I'd think it's possible.
But still, it would be nice to have a montage trailer showing off what you can do in the GTA IV world.

Seriously, I want some gameplay footage. This makes me worry if they'll make their March release (doubtful). Yet the detail was amazing, like those water effects. I hope the hand to hand combat is good and worth doing (I don't want to get shot at always if I try to punch somebody).

cmon guys these gfx arent THAT impressive. They're great, and I can't wait to play this, but those are definitely in-game cutscenes. I am honestly really glad the game didnt get to the point of GEARS realism. I think GTA would end up a pretty disgusting murder sim more akin to manhunt 2. These graphics retain enough of a comical feel that the game remains relatively light hearted compared to if it looked like COD4 or CRYSIS

Look, a game like GTA doesn't need to show gameplay footage. That's how popular the damn franchise is.

I think the graphics look great but with one snag...
The shadows don't look impressive but that is all polish. Mass Effect does the most decent job I've seen so far and even that isn't 100% accurate (Lighting is SERIOUSLY hard to program)...
All in all, looking forward to this one. =)

Cut scenes...not very much in the way of game play

Erm, you're obviously not aware that the cut scenes in GTA games are created on the fly using the in game engine!
Cut scenes in GTA have the same detail as 'in-game' graphics.

kind of meh for me. Nothing looks very polished yet (considering the game should already be out) and while the story looks cool gameplay looks the same.

what are you on about "considering the game should be out"? thats the very reason it was delayed, so they could improve it!

Same here, I’m waiting for the UPS guys to bring me the Carton coffin for my XB360.Too bad, I was trying to get all The orange box achievements and the fact the Bioshock DLC just kicked in only adds an insult to the injury.
I guess I won’t be playing Mass effect,Rock band or GH3 for a while.

What I think happened to your machines is something happened during the firmware update and it got corrupted. If you turned it off while it tired to update, it serves you right. If you didn't then that really sucks. I know I won't update the firmware BIOS on my PC unless I really, REALLY have to. A bad flash is a quick way to turn a computer into a paperweight.

Some of you who thought it was all cutscenes need a critical eye. The parts with the subway, the helicopter, punching, the car chase with shooting, the motorcycle chase, the scenes with shooting in the rain and snow, the building set on fire, are all in-game.

Yes, they're all "in-game", but I don't think any of those scenes were being controlled by the player. Does this game not have a HUD?

It's definitely played by someone but replayed (you can do the same thing in Vice City) to make it look more cinematic. How stupid would it look if there was suddenly a straight-from-the-game video among all these cinematic scenes? If you want that, you'll have to wait for gameplay videos and not trailers.
ps. Awesome trailer.

The game itself looks great, the graphics are good, the music is ok but the story doesn't appeals to me one bit.

Rockstar is being utterly pretentious if they think they need a trailer to unveil the exact same box art they used for all 3 of the previous GTA games. Why are people buying into all this hype? The GTA series has been great, but let's see some actual gameplay footage here!!!

looking forward to it.. hope the graphics get some more polish however. seems in some scenes the characters have a white/shiny outline. doesn't seem very smooth.

I think the character models in this game look so dated. I guess after playing real next gen games like Oblivion and Mass Effect my expectations have been raised.

Oblivion had terrible character models compared to Mass Effect. Anyway, GTA4 is a true sandbox game; Oblivion had a bunch of small towns, and there were load times getting into the towns and dungeons which had a decent amount of detail on the architecture. Mass Effect had a bunch of corridors. GTA4 has a massive sprawling city which is lively (cars driving by, pedestrians).

I agree. I think that not only the character models, but also the textures and motion animations look like holdovers from last-gen GTA titles.
especially look at the character's face at 0:29, he looks like a zombie.
I must say that despite being a rabid fan of the series, I am fairly disappointed with what I've seen so far in the trailers.

Well, keep in mind Oblivion came out over a year and a half ago. Yes, I think for the time the character models and graphics are awesome. Of course, a year and a half later Mass Effect comes out and blows my mind even more with the graphics and character models. I'm not comparing the gameplay to Oblivion or Mass Effect, I'm just saying I continue to get blown away by awesome next gen games and I can't believe this is a future next gen game when I look at the graphics. Especially, from such a successful franchise. It's almost like Rockstar is stuck in 2001 and has not yet made that jump like other developers have.
