Geno's Final Smash could have push-button timing to jack every other player up to 999%.

Oh shit. Puff......yeah it's Mallow. Damn, it's been awhile since I've played it.

I still remembered Geno somehow, but yes Mallow. Honest mistake. I'm going to find this ROM now, I need to play me some Super Mario RPG.

That would be bad ass!

You reap what you sow Nintendo, you reap what you sow...

I think they are padding. Granted, the game will have great legs but in all seriousness, after Smash what do we have to look forward to? This is my biggest concern for 08/09.

Oh fuck you Nintendo. You're just taking the most unbelievably long piss here. You KNOW this game is probably one of the most sought-after titles for the Wii and now you're making wait 3/4 of a year for the bloody thing?
Get your arses in gear and get this game out in a reasonable time frame.

Of course, this then brings the whole region-lock debate back into the midst. We can't import the US version of the game, which will work on a PAL Wii on a TV which supports NTSC (More or less every TV made in the last 7-10 years) because Nintendo, for some strange, controlling reason doesn't like that. We can't have a freeloader or actionreplay to boot the games because Nintendo blocks them.
And this is a prime example of how only PAL regions only seem to feel the real down sides of region coding. Japan and America will get Smash Bros Brawl early next year, yet PAL regions wont get it until 6+ months later? That's fucking bullshit.

... Just... Fuck you Nintendo. Fuck you.

This is not actually true

The site Kotaku got the report from said the Spokesman claimed if it wasnt on the list then its either not planned or comnig after Q2. Take a look at the list. There is one game coming in Q2 on Wii & DS and the listings are by no mean complete. I put it to them that they fabricated the spokesman's statement.

SSB will be out Q2 at the very latest. Trust me

Just when i started to even give a shit about the game, you stab us PAL'lies in the fucking back.
That means I couldn't play it til fucking September at best, because every single store orders stuff from I-don't-know-where and everything arrives here like half a year later.

Argh.

Instead of frikkin translating everything (probably the source of the delays) they should release an English-only or whatever version first AND THEN~~~ the translations for the pussies. Fuck, there isn't even a dutch translation in there, yet we are feeling the pain too.

Keep drinking the kool aid my friend. There are no new features being added- its being released in the US 4 months before. In those 4 months, they aren't going to add anything to the European version.

-Italian
-Bork Bork Bork! (hey, it's a language in Guild Wars)

Besides as a PS3 fanboy, I'm going to have to likewise endure 60+ years of how the EU saved our ass in Console War VII (CWVII).

Easy, Japan is the source, and we rebuilt their constitution and economy so well that they reward us with awesome videogames now.

Not that I believe thats the reason, I'm just continuing the funny logic :)

"damn. nintendo just bent europe over and fucked um with a broomstick."

Well, actually, no, Nintendo has lagged on PAL releases since the dawn of time. For the past 15 years at the least! Even on the first-gen Gameboy and SNES it took 4-6 months for games to migrate here to Australia for example.

That wasn't so bad when the only way to read about games was in game magazines that took 1-2 months to reach our shores, but with the advent of Teh Intarw3bs, it's just painful.

And these days it's pretty much *only* the first-party Wii games. All the big publishers for Wii and DS launch their stuff simultaneously here.

Seriously... With all the money they've been printing lately, can't they hire a bigger and better localization staff? And you know Australia/New Zealand is gonna get it at the same time/after Europe does, even though all they speak is English.

Here's an idea: take the finalized American English script, and make whatever changes necessary to conform to British/Australian English standards, and release it much sooner. THEN have your French/German/Spanish/etc. teams translate. Why can't you do all translations concurrently?

The thing is, I bet the game is already in French and Spanish, as most Ninty games that come to North America have those options for Canada/Mexico.

If this delay really should only concern Europe I have to say it wouldn't be a surprise if more and more people go and get a modchip and while they are at it stop actually *buying* games too.
We get games late and overpriced beyond reason. I mean just look at Resident Evil 4 Wii. The cheapest I have seen it is 38.99 Euro, while in the US it costs less AND the dollar is low as hell too, compared to the Euro. Gladly Nintendo decided to region lock the Wii so I can't just order a bunch of import games.

And why do they have to wait till the game is released to begin the translation? I'm sure the (American) English text is already in place and won't be altered much during testing. They could do the European translations at the same time they do the French and Spanish ones. The NTSC-PAL - conversion shouldn't take much time.

By the way, are Nintendo and MGS - games the only ones that take ages to be released here in Europe? I don't remember hearing any whining about other games.

I'd call BS on this, for a few reasons

1. This game has been in development since around October 2005 or so

2. We've seen gameplay vids, we've seen live demo versions, we've seen screenshots of everything in the game in action

3. Ok, so we saw all of this before Metroid Prime 3 was delayed, but they did that to add "a level of polish." Look at Brawl, anymore polish and we won't be able to see for teh shinies

4. Sakurai claimed that the game was being developed paralell between the regions, and we've had no reason to doubt him before (he predicted a lack of leaderboards, and lo and behold...)

5. Wishful thinking. Never stop believing until the facts come straight for the horse's mouth
