Final Fantasy IV DS is expected to release later this month in Japan. We're currently unaware of any release outside of Japan, but we wouldn't be surprised for sometime in '08. Hopefully the localization won't take too long, because you know it's already been done before -- with minor issues.

Its probably for the best that it's not on US MTV, a network which has done everything in its power to destroy good music.

That song better be ingame as an mp3, instead as a MIDI.
With a soundtrack like that, consider FFIV SOLD (that's coming from a guy who was stuck in FFIII).

It should be. I have read that there have been voice actors recording the cut scenes so I suspect a good song written for the game will be in it. FF IV is really starting to look amazing and I can't wait for the US release. I just hope that there is no attempt at translating the songs just put subtitles up on the screen and I will be happy (I can understand getting US voice actors for the cut scenes).

Yeah, like a retooled and remastered FF4 soundtrack isn't worth the $30 alone for the price of this game.

Are Japanese MTV viewers also assaulted with tweens and teens with petty problems?

That's it, I want some Silent Hill music videos on MTV now! Oh and a MGS3 music video too for that song on the end credits.

She has a pretty voice. Still, somehow having played the original a lot it seems that adding vocals nerfs the original beauty of the song.
As an example of this: compare the original Phantasy Star Online vocal-less opening with the ear hurting PSU redo.

beat this game so many times as a kid on SNES. Tried to play on remake on PS1 but load times were too painful. Definitely will pick this baby up when it is released.

Brought me to tears. Not the song; the fact that somewhere in the world there's a music channel that plays music sometimes instead of crap reality shows. Shine on, you crazy mother****ing diamonds.

I might have to buy a DS and this game just for the what better be awesome cut scene when Cid tosses himself overboard and goes off like a human bomb to stuff the redwings. original pwnage. Also, I used to cry as an 8 year old when Palom and Porom turn themselves to stone. Best FF ever.

If we're lucky, the North American release of Final Fantasy IV will keep the Japanese theme song, which sound very hypnotic and sorrowful (to me).
The only DS game that I know of (that kept the Japanese theme song), is Bleach DS: The Blade of Fate, which kept the wonderful "Ichirin no Hana" (translated as "single flower" or "one flower") as the theme song. "Ichirin no Hana" is from the fantastic group, "High and Mighty Color" from their "Gouon Progressive" album (that I own BTW).
