Today's Japanese MTV is better video: Final Fantasy IV music video
Final Fantasy IV DS is expected to release later this month in Japan. We're currently unaware of any release outside of Japan, but we wouldn't be surprised for sometime in '08. Hopefully the localization won't take too long, because you know it's already been done before -- with minor issues.

Wow, that song rocks.
ruibing @ Dec 6th 2007 2:59AM
I love how just about every FF has a strong vocal title thats just about perfectly tuned to it.
HighFiveJesus @ Dec 6th 2007 1:10AM
Its probably for the best that it's not on US MTV, a network which has done everything in its power to destroy good music.
Drew @ Dec 7th 2007 2:11AM
Kain is still a badass and Cecil is still awesome. Rosa seems to have less clothes. Sold!
gonk @ Dec 6th 2007 1:14AM

Gangsta Smurf @ Dec 6th 2007 6:47AM
MTV2, the spin off which was suppose to be all Music, all the time doesn't even show music.
MTV = Weak
Jonah Falcon @ Dec 6th 2007 1:17AM
Reminds me of that Lost Odyssey trailer.
shadow024 @ Dec 6th 2007 1:29AM

gonk @ Dec 6th 2007 1:34AM

Yukitaro @ Dec 6th 2007 1:32AM
The name of the artist is "Megumi Ida" and the name
of the song is "Moonlight" ("Light of the Moon" is the
literal translation.)
Ajani @ Dec 6th 2007 1:42AM
The song is Tsuki no Akari (Moonlight) by Megumi Ida.
No idea who she is...but here's here website with info for those interested.

I thought I was gonna get rick rolled, but that was a pretty hot song.
ThornedVenom @ Dec 6th 2007 2:41AM
That song better be ingame as an mp3, instead as a MIDI.
With a soundtrack like that, consider FFIV SOLD (that's coming from a guy who was stuck in FFIII).
Kenban @ Dec 6th 2007 12:22PM
It should be. I have read that there have been voice actors recording the cut scenes so I suspect a good song written for the game will be in it. FF IV is really starting to look amazing and I can't wait for the US release. I just hope that there is no attempt at translating the songs just put subtitles up on the screen and I will be happy (I can understand getting US voice actors for the cut scenes).
Yoshi Likes Boys @ Dec 6th 2007 3:45AM
Yeah, like a retooled and remastered FF4 soundtrack isn't worth the $30 alone for the price of this game.
Shockgamer @ Dec 6th 2007 4:17AM
Are Japanese MTV viewers also assaulted with tweens and teens with petty problems?
comtar @ Dec 6th 2007 12:37PM
That's it, I want some Silent Hill music videos on MTV now! Oh and a MGS3 music video too for that song on the end credits.
CuteUnit @ Dec 6th 2007 1:00PM
She has a pretty voice. Still, somehow having played the original a lot it seems that adding vocals nerfs the original beauty of the song.
As an example of this: compare the original Phantasy Star Online vocal-less opening with the ear hurting PSU redo.
JarMustard @ Dec 6th 2007 4:40PM
That song gives me chills no matter how many times i hear it.
Urza @ Dec 6th 2007 2:02PM
We don't get this kind of stuff on our MTV because our MTV isn't a music video channel.
timnc @ Dec 6th 2007 2:46PM
Guess it's time to buy a DS now.
Dogmeat @ Dec 6th 2007 3:59PM
beat this game so many times as a kid on SNES. Tried to play on remake on PS1 but load times were too painful. Definitely will pick this baby up when it is released.
Equynnox @ Dec 6th 2007 4:41PM
Brought me to tears. Not the song; the fact that somewhere in the world there's a music channel that plays music sometimes instead of crap reality shows. Shine on, you crazy mother****ing diamonds.
Alex Addley @ Dec 6th 2007 7:05PM
I might have to buy a DS and this game just for the what better be awesome cut scene when Cid tosses himself overboard and goes off like a human bomb to stuff the redwings. original pwnage. Also, I used to cry as an 8 year old when Palom and Porom turn themselves to stone. Best FF ever.
mikedon @ Dec 6th 2007 11:33PM
This sucks i dont wana see this when i put MTV on. That shouldint even be on MTV. I would rather see Rock or Rap, not pussy apple pie song.
BlackDS @ Dec 13th 2007 5:20PM
If we're lucky, the North American release of Final Fantasy IV will keep the Japanese theme song, which sound very hypnotic and sorrowful (to me).
The only DS game that I know of (that kept the Japanese theme song), is Bleach DS: The Blade of Fate, which kept the wonderful "Ichirin no Hana" (translated as "single flower" or "one flower") as the theme song. "Ichirin no Hana" is from the fantastic group, "High and Mighty Color" from their "Gouon Progressive" album (that I own BTW).
