In a show of confidence, Touchstone (read: Disney) and Propaganda games are making a pre-order demo available now for
Turok -- a full two months before the full game's Feb. 5, 2008 release. The disc has "approximately 30 minutes of gameplay from
Turok" and is available at Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart.com and Game Crazy. Although there doesn't appear to a release date change for the PS3 version, the pre-order demo is currently only available on Xbox 360. The PC version of
Turok will begin stalking reptiles sometime in Spring 2008.
The demo disc also includes a "premium item" and at this point.... we have no idea what that means. Our short time with
Turok at E3
did impress us, so we're looking forward to getting another chance to experience the hunt two months before launch. No word if a PS3 demo will be distributed some other way, but we're just happy that Propaganda and Disney had some sense to release next year instead of dropping
Turok like a cow into the raptor pit of this holiday season.

Always served hot.
Go ahead, move your hand back and forth quickly and watch the cursor on the screen try and keep up. It can't cant. I don't see that happening when I move the analog stick on my controller or the mouse on my computer.
I'll second the preference for the dual analog sticks. My arms got really tired after a very short amount of time while playing Metroid Prime 3- I prefer being able to rest my forarms in my lap while playing. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the waggle (enjoyed RE4 a lot more on the Wii, and can't get enough of that Bowling), but I really don't like it (so far) for fast moving FPSs. Ultimately, I'd prefer a mouse and keyboard, but for playing on the couch, the dual analog sticks do fine.
After opening a lot of jars with my hands it just makes foot control seem poor in comparison.

I respectfully decline.

Not sure why they are announcing this now. We got these in at Gamestop in October.

How do I know if I want to pre-order it if I haven't played the demo?

The multiplayer videos look like they are being played by someone who sucks at the game, so it's hard to know how good it'll be. Multiplayer, imho, is a dynamic that a single person can never capture-- you really need to wait until you can see it in action, play it until you're good at it, and then see how much fun you've having.
I just hope the PC port doesn't get screwed up, but lately the quality of PC ports has been great-- since most games are designed for 360, which is an underpowered gaming PC anyway.

I hate, really hate the wiimote controls as they've been used to this point for FPS. Metroid Prime 3 was more irritating than fun after a few hours of play.
As for PC FPS controls being so wonderful, sure they're responsive but who wants to sit at a PC all day at work and then sit at a PC at home to play games? Not me, I like to stretch out on the couch and play my games in HD on a 60" DLP or my 720p 8 ft. projector.

I do. It's all about the kinds of games you enjoy, not about the setup.

It comes with a black T-shirt, no idea on the size as I haven't opened mine up yet. The demo is worth the $5 pre-order then just move the pre-order later. The game is pretty boring, you do get to see all the killing animations for the dinosaurs, which alone was worth it. I don't think the game has much substance from what you get to play in the demo. It is a good way to try out the game before an official xbox/ps3 demo hits digital distribution methods (probably around initial game release)
