While the Spike Video Game awards weren't too successful for the PS3 (only one PS3 exclusive, Ratchet & Clank, got an award - and that was for "Best PS3 Game"), the show did feature an all new video for one of the system's most anticipated games, Little Big Planet. We've embedded it above so that you can see it in all its YouTubey glory. Nothing new here, really - just more Sackboys dressing up and having fun. In a pirate ship.
We have a feeling we're going to lose our voices asking for the beta of Little Big Planet before it happens, so we're just going to sit tight and watch this video over and over again. At least then we can pretend we're playing it.
[Thanks, DolphGB!]

Those were the exact words outta my mouth as soon as I finished the video. This game is so must own it's ridiculous. I hope (and assume) that the stuff we've seen is just the tip of the iceberg and I can't wait to see the user created stuff.

This game will set new standards. I can seriously see this game being the one that people all over the world think of when they think of PS3. Its just soooo different. Nothing like it has been done before.
I give it six months before EA release a similar style game, only with framerate issues, screen tearing and plastered with advertising.

So go get the music. This is from the excellent Go! Team album "Fire, Lightning Strike". It's on iTunes and all over the place. The rest of the album actually has some great songs on it and a few stinkers.

Hate me all you want but... what about the gameplay? you can custome youre character but is that it? what else can you do? what do you kill? what is the goal in this game? just like... cross the street or something? or is just fun to watch?

When you were a little kid, did you ever have toys? You know, like Legos, action figures, even a pad of paper and some crayons? Did you ever ask yourself "what's the point" when you played with them, or did you just play with your toys?
LBP is a toy. Actually, it's a whole damn chest full of them, and the point is to use your imagination and enjoy playing again.

well said. im not sure if i will buy this game but it does look amazing. PS3 is great for its variety, unlike other consoles wich are clogged up with FPS.

The "goal" is to have fun. We've seen in other trailers that you collect little stars or something and overcome physics-based puzzles as a group. Can you have fun without shooting someone or casting a magic spell? The gaming media seems to think so.

There are also "monsters" to "defeat" as featured in a past gameplay vid. The "stars" are spongeballs (seriously) you collect to use as currency to buy more shtuff for level editors and everything.
It's about the fun behind it. A multi-player platformer with puzzle elements. I mean, C'MON, what's NOT fun about that?!
