Battlefield: Bad Company trailer takes stab at humanity
All that's here is a clearly defined, well-written, well-acted character named Haggard who seems enamored with explosions. As we watched, we began to get the oddest sensation. We weren't sure, but we think that's what it's like when other emotions are engaged besides the emotion that likes to see things blown up. ... Yuck. We need a shower.

lol
" What country am I in ?" . . . " I think I am in Europe "

I find serious, but shallow an unsustainable combination, so if I've ever played war games it's been stuff like Cannon Fodder.
Glad to see this continuing the trend, but it really needed some sort of "Unless it's a farm"-type punchline.

I have a good feeling this game will deliver. The previews look really really nice. Go DICE!
NATO_Duke @ Dec 11th 2007 12:12PM
The only emotions that matter are those involved with blowing things up.
OMG, what is Homeland Security doing here!?
Mecharine @ Dec 11th 2007 12:30PM
At least the humor is decidedly better than "Army of Two"

My name is Earl, and I have a problem.

Have you guy seen the other gameplay movies they've released? they're pretty interesting.
frrs @ Dec 11th 2007 3:43PM
If anyone wants to see them: http://www.gametrailers.com/game/4456.html
Robobagins @ Dec 11th 2007 12:48PM
Oh snap I actually chuckled. Hopefully they'll release a demo on XBL and/or PSN.

Nice.
From what I've seen this has the potential to make Dice's name on the console after a few so-so titles.
It will greatly depend on the enemy/friendly AI though. Dice's bots aren't the best, and while they roughly simulate a person playing an online shooter, they don't really act like real people which is what you expect in a SP shooter.
But if they've got some outside talent in to produce some convincing AI which is convincing without needing to be scripted, then we could have an awesome game.

"here is a clearly defined, well-written, well-acted character"
Um, well-acted? Seriously? This guy had the lamest redneck hick voice I've ever heard. L_A_M_E
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Dec 11th 2007 1:07PM
aren't all hick voices lame?
Chris @ Dec 11th 2007 1:15PM
I love the new Team Fortress 2 trailer: Meet the rip-off
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Dec 11th 2007 1:29PM
Wait so being humorous in an FPS, automatically means it's a rip off of TF2?
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Dec 11th 2007 1:30PM
Lol that was pretty funny.
driven2sin @ Dec 11th 2007 1:38PM
3 out of 4 posts Vegata? you probably want a backseat driving game released
Obie @ Dec 11th 2007 2:15PM
It seems interesting. This, Army of Two and Brothers in Arms...2008 shouldn't be too shabby.
dsub @ Dec 11th 2007 5:25PM
This game looks great. It's about time DICE does something single player for once. Almost looks like Three Kings the game, only it's in Europe not Iraq.
ThornedVenom @ Dec 12th 2007 12:36AM
If the game takes a narrative aspect, I'd be interested: character development looks promising.
Otherwise, screw it.
