A little birdie told us.
Actually, it was PS3 Fanboy, but working those guys into a golf pun proved to be more challenging and awkward than hitting a hole-in-one with a pool noodle. As the strikingly informative headline would suggest, the fifth main iteration of Sony's Hot Shots Golf is expected to cross the gulf between the US and Japan sometime in March 2008. The game was greeted with polite applause upon its initial release in July, prompting PlayStation 3 sales to double and avid clubbers to praise its sparkling graphics and adorably deformed characters.
Expect to hear an exact release date early next year. Until then, caddy on.

Damn right, YAY!
Main thing that kept me from importing were those damn special rules. Like +2 strokes for landing in the sand and such. Now let's hope they keep the somewhat tolerable voices of Open Tee instead of downright annoying of HS Fore.

This is one game where I don't understand the delay. The damn game has been out since this last summer in Japan, so why this big delay to get it to the US? Just slap some English menus in the game and release it. I guess they're messing with the online features?
Anyway, I have the demo from the PSN store and the game is fantastic... but I can only play the demo so many times.

i never played a golf game on the ps2, apparently i didn't miss much
it's more fun to play golf irl anyway, and games like tiger woods have the exact same mechanics that links created over 10 years ago. bleh. they should do to golf games what skate did to tony hawk

Hot Shots 4 was a blast. Hopefully 5 lives up to the high standards of the series. I'm not sure I could justify paying $60 for a golf game though.

Bleh. I meant Hot Shots 3 was a blast. I got 4 as a gift but never opened the plastic wrap. I can thank Counter-Strike for that >.< Robbed me of 3 years of my gaming life.
