We'll let your puncuation and spelling fou paux pass, but you get no love for not having a sarcasm detector. In all seriousness though, most of the people on my 80+ long friends list have already stopped playing Halo 3 for COD4 or have gone back to Gears.

In the pre-game lobby on COD4 I always like to ask "Wheres the sword on this map?" Everybody busts out laughing!

"most of the people on my 80+ long friends list have already stopped playing Halo 3 for COD4 or have gone back to Gears."

Same here, but i only have about 30 peeps on my list.
I popped good ole' Gears in this past Sat morning and had some good times.

Really....Gears? Why?

i think COD4 has the best set-up for a long life of multiplayer with a bunch with continuous unlockables. i stopped playing H3 for COD4 and have only gone back to it to play rocket race a few times.

But you can only go through prestige mode so many times until you get bored, so i think in the long run, people will be playing Halo 3 soon enough, especially with these new maps.

Well, I have been playing online MP since the original Duke Nukem and even with the glitches, host advantage, and horrible party system - In my opinion Gears is the best multiplayer I have ever played.

I love cod4 but I really have a problem with the maps. It seems like there is always an enemy spawning behind you.

Bloo, that's "faux pas," and the term is reserved specifically for SOCIAL mistakes, which frankly nothing on the internet could possibly count as. Don't lecture others on how to spell if you can't yourself, hm?

On second thought, your own "correction" could be considered a faux pas. Hm, irony.

@onetrueping, my mispelling of faux pas was a conscious one - sorry you didn't see the irony. And this message board is quite social. Now go back to playing WoW and eating your cheetos.

Because deliberate misspellings are so easy to spot, hm? It was still a stupid thing to say. Now, go take your rage out elsewhere instead of joining the crowd that keeps the Joystiq comments so low-quality.

Seriously onetrueping, you should turn off WoW every now and then and interact with real people.

Because obviously anyone who plays World of Warcraft isn't a real person, and thus interacting with them is far less sociable than shooting people online with a vocabulary consisting largely of words with only four letters.

I'd compare your classing of other people as "second-class citizens" for playing a game you don't personally like to a few certain organizations, but I'm holding out hope that invoking Godwin's Law won't be necessary to make you stop posting. At any rate, I'm definitely through here... brick walls rarely have anything interesting to say.

I totally agree.
I'm going to buy them, and I would have had no qualms had there been 3 complete maps. Even though I imagine Foundry will be cool to play with... you pretty much ARE paying for one "incomplete" map that I for one will rarely use.

IMO, 4 maps for $10 makes more sense to me, especially if one of them is Foundry-like. The other two look like fun though.

But they even said that one of the maps is just a half a level from the game. So really it is just that one map that looked like a days work. I don't know. Count me out.

Delgado-
Foundry is a 'complete map', there is a default setting that is ready to go and playable. It doesn't ship as a blank slate, but has the added benefit of being able to be used as a blank slate. Just so you and others are aware!

I don't know how we could forget about them, we get a reminder every day with some kind of info about this map pack. I love the game news and the willingness to share info, but let it go, man! once is enough.

Here's why I don't think these maps are worth the money.

1. Bungie said the maps won't show up if anyone in a matchmaking game hasn't bought them.

2. If, by chance, everyone in your game has bought them, then it is still randomized, and there is just as much a chance you'll get an old map as a new one.

Based on those odds, I don't feel I'll get my money's worth of playtime in the maps.

I know there will be a playlist just for the new maps, but just because I have new maps, I don't want them to be my exclusive maps.

For me, it's just as well to wait for them to be free.

Yea, a McDonalds meal is the same price as these maps, what would I rather do, stay in and cook food and get three maps to play and offer me hours of entertainment, or go out for one fast food meal.

The price is not a big deal to a shit load of people. Just compare it with other crap you would buy in your life.
